Palatul Brukenthal Avrig

About Palatul Brukenthal Avrig
The Brukenthal Palace is a stately palace from 1788, formerly used as the summer residence of Transylvanian Baron Samuel von Brukenthal. It now offers accommodations with free Wi-Fi, just 164 feet from Avrig Train Station. Sibiu lies 17 mi to the west. Visitors can enjoy the estate's unique Baroque architecture and the large palace park. The rooms are located in different buildings within the palace. All rooms have their own private bathroom, providing comfort and privacy throughout the stay. Guests can dine at the on-site restaurant, where they can enjoy Saxon, Romanian or international dishes, or relax in the dining/lounge bar. Within the palace, guests can discover a unique historical area, where three museums are located: the Glass Museum, the Saxon Museum and the Medieval Museum. These offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy an authentic insight into local history and culture. Nearby attractions include the Court House and the Town Hall, both located further down the street. Parking is available free of charge.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the establishment. The ambiance, the surrounding area, the room, the bottle of wine we had, and the exceptional breakfast were all exceptional. The staff was exceptionally courteous and attentive. I would highly recommend this establishment as our first choice for future visits to the area.

The bathroom was enclosed in glass, very poor idea. Luckily we were only there for 2 nights.

I recently stayed at this beautifully decorated hotel and was truly impressed by almost everything. The French-style décor is meticulously done, the facilities are spotless, the breakfast is delightful with a French touch, and the outdoor seating areas offer a perfect setting to relax and enjoy the surroundings. It’s a place that clearly aims for excellence. However, I was very disappointed by one important detail: there was no complimentary drinking water or coffee in the room. Despite having a water boiler provided, I had to buy a bottle of water from the hotel restaurant for €5 — which felt excessive, especially given the lack of nearby supermarkets. This made me feel like it was a deliberate choice to generate extra revenue rather than offer basic hospitality. This policy is particularly frustrating because the hotel is otherwise so close to being a five-star experience. I was told the hotel is new (opened just a month ago), so I sincerely hope they reconsider this policy. Offering guests something as simple and essential as water in the room would make a big difference — and would align with the high standards they seem to be striving for in every other aspect. Lack of complimentary water in the room

Everything was good
-
The room, the park, the place as whole. The way to the attic rooms, narrow staircase, near the restaurant dirty dishes area. The room price is higher than usual for these kind of rooms.

The place is a wedding venue so it would have been more peaceful without the loud music at dinner.

Amazing room. The garden si great as well
-
Lovely gardens and rooms. We adored the bathroom and would have loved to protect it with a curtain if deciding to shower instead of taking a bath.
-
A quiet location, surrounded by nature When they host events it is too crowded and the guests from events mix over the area of hotel guests

Superb
-
Property & breakfast The fact that people that were not guests also access pe garden/property in the evening. High prices in restaurant, poor meniu.

The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The restaurant is fancy and it has a very nice (and romantic) atmosphere. The food was good, the breakfast spectacular. I loved in particular the honeycomb. For us as a family it was convenient that the rooms are very close to the restaurant and to the playground. It is a bit strange that the rooms are particularly basic and small for such a fancy location (and restaurant).

The location The room thermatate was broken on 40 degrees celcius, you couldn't lower it. You couldn't open the windows because there was a big party. Big noise until midnight. If you like room sauna and big noise is the perfect place.
