Perfect location to stay in the downtown Charleston area. The staff was very helpful. Would definitely stay again!

First, if you’re hoping to call the front desk, prepare for a scavenger hunt. The calls appear to be outsourced somewhere in a parallel universe because whoever answers has absolutely no idea how to help with anything at the property. You’ll be transferred around so many times you’ll start feeling like a hot potato. Speaking of hot, let’s talk about the AC. Apparently, the hotel believes guests should experience all four seasons in a single night. At some point, the air conditioning seems to shut off for energy-saving purposes, so don’t be surprised if you wake up feeling like you’ve been slow-roasted overnight. Then there’s the parking situation. They conveniently forget to mention that staying at the hotel doesn’t actually include parking at the hotel. Instead, you’ll pay roughly $60 per night for valet/parking on top of the room rate. Nothing says hospitality quite like paying extra to store your car on the property you’re already paying to stay at. And make sure to check your bill carefully because they somehow managed to charge me twice. The one bright spot? The rooftop restaurant is genuinely nice. Great atmosphere, good food, good drinks. My recommendation: stay literally anywhere else, then come by for dinn

We were a little underwhelmed when we stayed at the Dewberry. It is nice but not for the price you pay. We stayed at another hotel for 3 days before that & had impeccable service & rooms so maybe that is why but we didn't feel like there was anything really special about our room here. The location is far away from all the things we wanted to do, which was fine because we don't mind walking, but just something to note. The rooftop bar is a must & you get preferred access if you stay there which is really what you are paying for. I had added an upgrade to our room for a bottle of champagne to be sent up to our room when we checked in but it never came. We left early the next morning to go to the airport & when we got in the car my husband realized we left some pictures in our room so I sent the hotel a message to see if they could get them for us before they cleaned the room, but I never even heard back from anyone. Overall the stay was fine but we just figured for the price it would be a little more upscale.

They need to add a cover over the valet... Roof extension. People were getting soaked during rains. This was my complaint the last time I stayed at this hotel... The citrus club is a train wreck. Definitely need better management over the citrus club, and more common sense. This would take a very good property into a great property...

Wonderful wonderful stay. Gym is average but didn’t go to stay there for a workout :)
-
Great location. We went 2 weeks before Christmas and it was beautifully decorated.
-
The rooftop bar situation where guests don't have automatic access over outsiders is unfair. Didn't know there were bikes accessible. Should be at least croissants available with coffee in lobby. They need decent local maps with interest points shown.

Wow, what amazing service, this is what a lux hotel should be. From the moment we stepped in , all our needs were anticipated and everything was handled seamlessly. The room was comfortable, the rooftop bar great. The restaurant at the hotel was under renovation so that was a let down. All that said, exceptional hotel!

Scent and overall vibe. Rooms need updating.

There were no amenities at this hotel. We thought the room was overpriced for the quality. No proper restaurant, difficulty getting into rooftop lounge. The lounge downstairs had out of control children running around. The Dewberry hotel was disappointing for the cost and I do not recommend.
