Motel 6 Columbia, SC - Fort Jackson Area

The short Lady named Barbara was so nice& helpful. She understood her job& did it well. Even in a little difficult situation that occurred she held it very professionally. Sweet Lady& every other staff that was on duty while I was there was nice as well

We got to the motel at about 11:20 pm. The woman behind the counter said because we tried to check in after 11:00 pm my reservation was canceled. She said the policy had started a month ago and that information was on the Expedia website. I don't know if that's true because I didn't book through Expedia. We had to go find another motel at 11:30 at night. And the woman behind the counter was extremely rude.

There is nothing clean about this place. I booked a non smoking room and there were at least 3 ash trays on the room when we got in. The windows had some sort of slimy grime in them. Was afraid to sit on the bed. The desk chair had a leg bent and i don't think it would have supported my weight of 140 lbs. staff was not at the sesk when we showed up and had to wait a while to get checked in only to immediately check out after seeing our room. Was lucky to find another hotel considering it was the day before graduation at Ft Jackson. Never again. Free would be too expensive. Getting paid to stay there would be too much to pay! Just awful.

I had a very disappointing experience staying here. The property was extremely old and appeared to be poorly maintained. There was a strong damp smell throughout the room, and I didn’t feel comfortable using the provided bedding, so I had to buy new bedsheets. Many fixtures were rusty, and I noticed cobwebs in several areas, which made the room feel unclean. Overall, the condition of the place did not meet my expectations, and I would not recommend it to others unless significant improvements are made.

GM was no help, they never refunded my stay at the motel after I cancelled my booking, there was no room’s available at 3pm check in. It was a dump. And a lot of suspicious activity.

The older black lady working the desk is one of those that are overly sensitive, so be careful at what you said or she’ll turn that nasty attitude on. The thermostat display doesn’t work im the room, so you have get up multiple times during the night and turn it off or on. Getting comfortable was not an option. I killed a little roach on the desk. The entire floor smoked like Mary Jane. The swimming pool was closed with a black tarp coving over it, which was the main reason I booked the motel. Don’t book here just move on and pay the $10-15 somewhere else.

The bed was amazing and peaceful.

Additionally, I overheard employees engaging in personal, non-work-related conversations on company phones, which I found to be unprofessional. I also felt that I was unfairly judged and treated differently as a Black male. Despite having paid for multiple days of lodging, I was informed that I would be required to leave the premises the following day without what I believe was a valid reason. Overall, this was one of the most negative customer service experiences I have ever encountered. I expected to be treated with professionalism, respect, and fairness, but unfortunately, that was not my experience.

Staff was lovely, the room could’ve been cleaner.

Do not book here for boot camp graduations!!!! There was no breakfast, no fridge in the room, no microwave to heat up food in the room. Also, i was told days in advance and the day i checked in, that there would be coffee at 6am. They did not have coffee until 7am. They didnt even have those little tiny shampoo and conditioner packets!! Very disappointed for the price I had to pay for it. Probably wont be booking a motel 6 in the future! The only good part about it was the bed and pillows were kind of comfy!

Quiet,safe place to sleep. Will recommend for all. Pet friendly,all around great stay!!

Rough neighborhood. Bathroom features slightly damaged. Pnly working outlets by the door and in the bathroom. AC was set to 59.

Frightening. Needed a restroom on arrival after many hours on the road. None in lobby and no staff available. A kind guest who was sitting on a table in the lobby allowed me to use her bathroom "as long as I didn't mind cats." Grateful, I used it, but couldn't close the door because of all the clothes hanging on it. Three cats pushed their way in to be petted while I was using the facilities. Desk clerk reappeared, very nice, informed me there would be no coffee, either in the room or the lobby, in the morning. People were sitting on curbs outside the entrance drinking things out of paper bags. A woman came up to me and begged, saying she was living under a nearby overpass. I gave her money. Went to my room, which featured no fridge or microwave and was empty of all furnishings except for the bed and a beat up dresser. Double locked the door and didn't even venture out for food or drink. NEVER AGAIN!

Room was dirty, toilet was not clean. Found a lot of stains on the table. Plenty of insect behind curtains.
