MainStay Suites Florence - Darlington

The room was huge which was amazing but I’m not sure when the room was cleaned last. The floors turned my feet black so I could only walk with shoes on. The shower look like someone had just used to so I was iffy about getting in of course. Also do not expect to get your deposit back. I left the room in the same condition and they never refunded me for my stay

I actually did NOT stay here. I ended up leaving that same evening. Something didn’t sit right. The room was filthy (water from sink was light brown, beds had stains on sheets, quilts on top had tears/burn holes, bathroom door does not close for privacy, ground was covered in dirt, found a piece of sharp metal on floor that could have cut your foot open, whole property looked like it was being personally renovated, drove around back for parking and it looked like I made a wrong turn somewhere & wasn’t welcome just by the looks of the people who jumped out of their car and stared me down.) I have tried to call hotel for my money back, emailed 3 times, wrote through hotels.com messages and still nothing. I have a blind dog (they were aware about) and they put me on the second floor (only stairs-no elevator) and I almost fell bringing him down when I left. Too many people coming and going at night too. Pictures online NOT the same as the actual property. False advertisement.

The beds were comfortable and it was pretty quiet. Traffic is muted very well. NO BREAKFAST AT ALL!! The only 2 reasons I booked is it to be inexpensive because we won't be at the hotel often, and a free breakfast. They are still under renovation and it doesn't look like anything is getting renovated at all. Your shower must run for 30 minutes to get hot. That's 30 minutes of wasted water. That's a lot of water. The water is cold for those first 25 minutes. I would just call it no hot water in this hotel. You've been warned The room was dirty with items left over from previous guests. A dirty cup behind the bed and a forgotten charging block and cable, an open cat food container, a used bar of soap, 2 large knives under a cabinet, a leaking kitchenette sink, dirty bathroom exhaust fan, slow draining bathroom sink, no fresh towels daily, no vending machines, no cleaning service during our stay, parking lot is in extreme disrepair, and again, no breakfast. Just a Keurig in the main lobby. You get coffee in your room, but no coffee maker, no iron but it has an iron mount in the room. No hair dryer. The lighting at night in the corridors aren't too bright. The parking lot and entryway is in extreme disrepair. Pull in slowly. At least 5 MPH. There are also a lot of potholes and broken pavement. If you drive a low car or something fancy. Don't book here. You won't make it in their driveway. The bed though was extremely comfortable as were the pillows. The sheets are very thin. The TV has a learning curve to operate. But has all your standard channels. I don't trust the free wi-fi here at all. The hotel looks nothing like it does in the photos. It's under renovation and it has been apparently for over a year. The pool is empty and appears that way for a good while. There was a required $100 dollar refundable deposit they asked for before we received our room keys. This was not mentioned anywhere and it dipped into our vacation budget. Which was not ideal.

Decent room for the price. Could have been cleaner. Very loud guests are night. My husband asked for a pillow (3 provided for a king bed)and the front desk never provided one, he had to track down housekeeping. They only provide one towel and washcloth and do not replace or refill toiletries. We had small used bottles left for us by previous guest. Full size fridge and microwave was nice.

Don’t waste your money!! The whole place is nasty and sketchy. Shower and tub was brown. Don’t get me started on those beds they were just filthy covers not clean and had crumbs in the bed. They gave me another room but I end up not staying in that one either.

Seen bugs in bed. I know that cleaners clean they can't help this

It was not a suite. And people were living in the MOTEL. And it smelt like weed.

It was absolutely amazing I would recommend 1000%

Trash piled up everywhere outside. The area and outside of the hotel and the area were sketchy. The bed wasn’t comfortable.

The pictures looked great

free parking and thats it, this hotel was terrible couldn't check in on time as room wasn't ready, mirror had fallen off the wall, dirty towels hanging on the back of the bathroom door, sink wouldn't drain, room wasn't vacuumed, counters weren't clean. overall, terrible experience

EXTREME PROBLEM WITH BUG INFESTATION, MAJOR NEED OF EXTERMINATOR, CIGARETTE BURNS EVERYWHERE IN THE ROOM

We were initially given a that someone was already living in- long term. The second room had not been cleaned before we were assigned a room we would accept. The water never really got as hot as I liked for it too but it was acceptable.
