Excellent location. We walked to the park, to the national museum of civial war medicine, and to market street where all the cafes, shops, and restaurants are. Rooms are spacious, beautifully lit, and very comfortable. Staff are friendly and efficient. We definitely got our money's worth. A pool or jacuzzi would have been a nice touch.

It was overpriced. Slamming doors from a wedding party kept us awake all night and early risers woke us up coming and going constantly slamming doors. There’s no hotel bar open late and the town only seemed to have college dive bars. Our room was next to the ballroom so all the smokers stood outside our door. I expect more comfort for a hotel the same price as a NYC hotel. The Wye Oak tavern was wonderful dinner and the hotel is pretty but definitely not worth the price or the downtown walkability.

It’s a lovely hotel in an interesting adorable town. I got lost walking around the hotel.

The hotel was overall excellent. It is an elegant hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The first room that they put us in was right below a very busy bar and restaurant - and they graciously moved us to a very nice room in a very quiet corner of the hotel. And the location near the center of Frederick is convenient. Breakfast was the lone disappointment of the hotel. They have a nice coffee kiosk with some pastries and a few breakfast sandwiches. But, lacking in fresh fruit, and not possible for example to order a plate of fried or scrambled eggs.

We stayed at Visitation during our son and DIL marriage in the Frederick courthouse- afterwards we reserved dinner at Wye Oak Tavern. The environment, presentation and superior taste of food made for a memorable evening. They treated us with a glass of complimentary champagne to celebrate our night and we never felt rushed to leave that evening. It was a special night and our stay at hotel was superb - rooms were immaculate and comfortable- hotel grounds were lovely to relax.

The property was beautiful and such unique hostory.

The building's old structure provided some good and some not so good quirks. Storage in the room we stayed in was very limited, no closet The staff was great with everyone was the parking valet to the hostess inn the Wye Oak Restaurant was extremely helpful.

Great location, walkable to everything. The rooms were clean and staff was helpful.

great location to town

The hotel is nice and in a great location in downtown Frederick. Overall, it was great. The only two criticisms i have is that the gym was bare bones and the front desk was a little too reserved. A gym at this price point should be more than a treadmill and a rack of dumbbells. The front desk guy wasn’t the most welcoming and pretty much looked down when passing by the lobby when you said “hi”. But if you’re staying in Frederick, the Visitation is a great place to stay - and Frederick is a hidden gem when it comes to walkability, bars, and restaurants. The staff at the restaurants were so service oriented and the food and drinks were fantastic.

Lovely property, honor paid to the building's history, helpful staff, ideal and walkable location, and Wye Oak Tavern on site for a delicious meal. Thoroughly enjoyed!

When we arrived, the cold water spigot in our bathroom sink was not working. The next day, the hot water spigot did not turn off so we had to shut off our water. The bedroom light kept on flickering as well when he had it on. The room to our door kept on getting stuck when trying to opening it from the outside.

Don’t get me wrong, the historic restoration story about this property is pretty cool, however, there is only so much that can be done to the foundation. I ordered this room as a gift to my wife, so that she could get one extra night of sleep and a late morning without children. Unfortunately, we were assigned a bottom floor room underneath the restaurant on site. You can hear them rolling tables and clanking on the dining ware after closing. As you can imagine, that lasted for a long time. Then AGAIN, in the morning- you have the loud noises resurged for the night of breakfast. Being on the bottom floor, the window was right next to the valet port, so we could also hear all the cars and commotion happening out there. The stay was booked for comfort, and unfortunately it did not feel worth it.

The overall experience was great - it’s a fantastic location, and the room was cute and comfortable! The shower clearly had not been cleaned (5-6 hairs on the floor 😬), but that’s my only complaint. I would stay there again!

Very clean amenities. Was very comfortable and loved everything they had to offer. Loved the free bike rental, champagne for two and how easy it was to get around.
