We had a wonderful time at Avery! Bob and Cherish were kind and helpful. Everything was very clean and tidy. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and in the gazebo. We will be back!

It is a PERFECT location for getting around. Main Street is a block away, so we walked there every day of our trip to shop and eat. The river is also a block away, so you can rent canoes/kayaks, rent bikes, walk the trails along the river, or simply sit and enjoy the views. The host is accommodating and knowledgeable. Ask him anything and he is bound to know the answer. If not, he thrives on new knowledge and is sure to find the answer! There was a sit-down breakfast every morning at 9, and the food was great. When we return to Galena, we will not hesitate to stay at this property again!

Our weekend stay at the Avery was relaxing and enjoyable. The breakfasts were amazingly prepared. This was our first B&B experience and it did not disappoint. The location was perfect for walking into the downtown shopping district. Our room was clean, updated, and very comfortable. We would highly recommend them.

The property was very clean and updated. It was very conveniently located to Main Street, less than 10 minute walk. The hosts are very friendly and outgoing. They thought of any and all amenities that would be needed and had them available to guests. We will certainly stay there again on our next visit to Galena!

Beautiful home on a hill as you enter Galena from the east with free street parking by the house. Very comfortable all around (porch, bedding, room). The owner was very informative. Home was very quiet. We never heard people walking around and barely heard anyone talking during the breakfast. Would definitely stay there again.

A beautifully maintained home with comfortable accommodations walking distance from Main St. Galena. Breakfast was excellent and the best touch is the candy bar at the front door. The beds are VERY comfortable and the rooms are gorgeous. My hubby, the coffee addict LOVED that there was coffee available 24/7. The backyard and porch is perfect for a lazy afternoon. We cannot wait to come back and stay again. We dream about having coffee on the back porch. Bob and Cherish are the BEST hostesses.

We are of the opinion that our experience is now the benchmark for all future B&B planning! We were spoiled since we were the only guests for a couple days prior to the Memorial Day weekend. Having the entire house to ourselves was icing on the cake! Bob and Cherish are amazing hosts! I can’t say enough how we felt at home with down to earth personalities. The conversations we had were filled with knowledge and history of the house and area and more. If given the chance, intellectual conversations flow easily and we had the feeling we knew them as friends since we connected on many levels. Open minded, well educated, and professional through and through! Bob is a badass in the kitchen! Make sure you tell them what you want in the beginning and they (Bob) will make it happen.

Warm welcome by the owners. Bob was eager to please and worked with room and breakfast preference when applicable. His potatoes, eggs and bacon were scrumptious. He was very helpful in offering suggestions on places to eat and visit. Highly recommend this place when visiting Gelena, IL. P.S. they have a candy bar for all to enjoy.
