Great location downtown and close to Toyota Center. The parking garage was a distance.

Location, room was clean The AC was sub-par, we even changed rooms. It was hot and humid the entire stay, even in the hallways. I'm from Houston and have stayed here several times over the past 20 years and I was put off with the ac issue, it's June in Houston and trying to get dressed with make up for a special event in a sauna like environment is just unacceptable. Additionally, the bathtub was strangely small on the interior, even though it looked nice from the exterior. Very slippery, nearly injured myself trying to shave my legs. We ordered 2 meals with room service and both were small portions, no trays and mediocre, at best. Overall, the price per night and $$ for amenities was waaaayyyy too much. The bar was sad and the billiard table and pool cues could have been picked up from Goodwill the day before. All were probably nice 10 yrs ago. Also, very sad This hotel used to be MUCH nicer. I have observed a marked downturn in quality from the last time I stayed here about 4 years ago. Might as well stayed at a Motel 6. $480/night.....LOL. never again. Checked out the Lancaster while attending a function at Jones Hall and it is MUCH nicer and located with even better access to Theater and Toyota Center for concerts. Very, very disappointing birthday present for my Boyfriend this weekend.

We had a great experience at the Magnolia. The only thing was that there wasn’t an ice machine on every floor .

This hotel is nice and the rooms are clean and spacious. For the money and location, it is overall a decent hotel. Main drawbacks are the lack of self-serve parking which requires you to pay the 54$ a day valet fee or brave the second drawback: the homeless people living right outside of the hotel. They were everywhere on the block of the hotel, including one next to the doors and one had even out a curtain up against the service door of the hotel to sleep. We understand that the world is full of these kind of problems but staying at a hotel surrounded by obvious dr*g use and homelessness was obviously less than ideal and put a damper on our stay. This is a hotel that has all the average amenities that the majority of hotels have nowadays: fitness center, pool, bar, breakfast (not included in the cost of the room and no option to do that) so it seemed to us to not really be worth the trouble of worrying whether we were going to get from the hotel to our car and back safely or that our car would get broken into overnight.

Breakfast the second day was excellent on the third day it was poor had to wait 40 minutes to get plates for breakfast buffet and coffee and I had to go ask someone to assist. There was no fresh fruit. Valet service was excellent.

Great view from the pool deck, room was clean and quiet, great location a short walk to Daikin park. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great value for the price. Definitely staying here again.

Exceptional

I love this hotel. It's lovely and well priced. My only complaint is the AC is so loud - but otherwise love it.

The staff was exceptionally helpful throughout our stay. Check-in and check-out were both quick and hassle-free, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. The valet attendants were polite, professional, and very efficient—they had our vehicle ready promptly whenever we needed it. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which offered a good variety of options and was a great way to start the day. Overall, the Magnolia Hotel provided excellent service, a comfortable stay, and a convenient downtown location. We would definitely stay here again.

The TV in my room didn't work, and the Maintenance person went above and beyond to make sure the TV worked.

Everything was great. The location was great and the hotel parking was easy, and affordable compared to most hotel parking.

Clean room and courteous staff
-
Great hotel. Enjoyed our stay.
-
Staff was very helpful and welcoming. Bravo!

Entrance of the hotel. Great space of room. Not enough light in room.

The building is not well maintained. They still have the original single pane windows that open, which seems like a tremendous safety hazard not to mention they make it really hot. Our window on the 12th floor was broken and “fixed” with tape. The first room had a broken a/c so we got a new room with a broken window and stained carpet. The whole building smells musty, moldy and gross. Tons of dings and scratches all over walls and even ceilings???? How does that happen? I called the number to the restaurant and was transferred FOUR times before someone would take my order. Anyhow, food was decent and staff was nice but the facility itself needs better upkeep.

Passable

Additionally, I was not informed that a prom event would be taking place the evening of my arrival. The event significantly impacted the atmosphere and guest experience, including changes to the restaurant service. Instead of the expected dining experience, the restaurant was relocated to another space that felt more like a pickup area than a proper restaurant setting. Had these conditions been communicated in advance, I would have had the opportunity to make a more informed decision regarding my accommodations.
