The location is absolutely perfect. Just a short walk to the train station which allowed me to explore other areas of the Algarve easily. Located in old town so lots to see. Also only 45 minute walk to the farthest sightseeing places. Also so clean and I felt safe and the staff were very helpful. Lastly for aesthetic purposes so inspirational loved the high ceilings and great views and interior decoration

Staff was amazing, welcoming and supportive. Very conducive to meet and mingle with other solo travellers. Felt very safe there. Like with any property some things are not always perfect- small kitchen /small fridge. However small details are small and overall, I was able to overlook it.

The women only dorms Not much space in the fridge, maybe a bigger fridge would be nice

The place is so authentic and reminds me of the vibes of my grandma’s house. It feels like home, location is good. You can use the elevator from the market next to it to get up if you want to avoid the stairs. Philippa the host is very friendly and organizes events to gather people in the hostel. Wasn’t able to join due to join due to my short stay. I was a bit cold at night, couldn’t find a warmer blanket

The staff is lovely and the place is very clean, definitely worth another visit PS: the shower I used was great This is something that can't be changed but the toilets have the doors very close to the toilet itself so if you have long legs or are a bigger person it will be an issue to use them (this is valid only for the floor I used). This is only for future visitors

Staff, location, price, the private apartment I chose and the common areas available for all shared and private apartments. Apartment couch isn't bad but not great. If that was replaced this apartment would be the second to none. Still my favorite lodging out of 7 different places during my trip. Just trying to think of one "negative"
-
The only thing if I had to list a negative was the couch not being the most comfortable. Again it was nice clean large area that'd be the only thing I'd change if it was my place. Would still rent again in a second

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable as were the bathrooms. They have a very nice rooftop to sit on and the location was great! If you’re looking to meet other people it is a bit of a quiet and less social hostel. Would be great if you traveled and stayed here with other people

I stayed I. The private room which was separate from the hostel and had its own kitchen and bathroom. Great little place. Wish I could have stayed longer. Just to note - the entrance is at the back and up a hill. For me it was fine but a bit of a hike and sometime slippery so just be careful :)

The owner is rather unwelcoming. She doesn't want people hanging by the hostel after checking out. For travelers, were always waiting for our bus schedule or the check in time for the next hostel. It's off putting to be told I can't hang around. Bags can be left behind but just until 5pm which is also an annoyance.

door to my room did not lock !

No air conditioning in rooms! Just a fan! Unfortunately, as we went in summer, we suffocated at night

The hostel has a good rooftop, nice view and is very quiet at night, so you can rest very well. The receptionist Filipa is so nice, friendly and kind.

Awesome stay at Boutique Taghostel! Super clean, great location near old town and restaurants. The girl at the front desk was the sweetest. She gave great tips and even ran out to return my glasses when I forgot them. I really appreciated this so much! Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

It was perfect, rooftop is my favorite place!!
-
The room was very hot at night. Early in the morning they shut the fan off

As a second visit to Tag; it’s the common spaces that are absolutely enjoyable and create wonderful social interactions and eventually memories. Kitchen space is narrow, but once you know how to “kitchen dance” you make it work. Has 2 excellent veggie peelers- for real!

The whole experience exceeded my expectations.

I booked this one the last minute because i couldn't communicate and checked-in other accommodation closed here which i had booked last week. Fortunately, it is almost perfect: Filipe is very friendly, the place is more like a big family...warm and welcome. I regret that i don't find this place earlier. A bit noise

I stayed in the female dorm for two nights. Very comfortable, clean and quiet. The hostel is in a great location, walking distance to beaches, restaurants, bus and train stations.
