Holiday Inn Express Jamaica - JFK AirTrain - NYC by IHG

Really no amenities to speak of. Wish we would have realized sooner that there is *no parking*! That was a big letdown honestly. It was fine and other than the parking, no issues. We won’t stay at this hotel again but we would recommend it if you don’t care about/need amenities and parking isn’t an issue.

My room had a strong tobacco smell but the receptionist insisted it was a smoke free room. I found that dishonest.

Nice hotel, very close to JFK airport. They front desk night people were very kind, friendly and helpful!

The only issue is that even though it is called JFK, it is a long train ride and a 3-4 block walk through a not so nice neighborhood to get to the hotel. By day this is fine, but not late at night.

Overall the staff seem to be pretty nice! Gentleman who helped check me in seemed pretty rushy (if thats a word) but for the most part I enjoyed my stay

Customer service was excellent for both checking in and checking out. They were very helpful and happy to assist you. No parking provided for customers. You will need to pay for parking about two blocks away or find street parking. It might be a good idea for someone to patrol the floors to ensure that people are not smoking in their rooms, since this is a smoke free hotel. Someone on the floor that I was on was smoking the whole time that I was there. You are able to smell it strongly in the hallway and also under the door.

The room was clean and comfortable. Good size space. Nice breakfast offered as well. Location is slightly dodgy but not horrible. Also, it was actually 5 miles away from JFK airport, despite including the airport in it's name.

The cigarette scent was bothersome in the hallways . Besides that, it was ok.

Unfortunately, my experience with the manager was completely different. His behavior was rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. There was confusion regarding complimentary bottled water. The front desk staff was willing to provide the water as a courtesy, but the manager immediately intervened and insisted on charging us, which was disappointing and embarrassing. What concerned me even more was his behavior toward my wife. In front of me and other guests, he made inappropriate personal remarks, including saying “I love you” to my wife. As a guest staying at the hotel, I found this highly unprofessional, uncomfortable, and unacceptable. Rather than feeling welcomed, I felt uneasy and concerned about the environment during our stay. A hotel manager represents the property and should treat all guests with respect, professionalism, and courtesy. The excellent service provided by the front desk staff was unfortunately overshadowed by the manager’s conduct. I hope this matter is taken seriously and reviewed by senior management to ensure future guests do not experience similar treatment.

Space was great, clean and super comfortable. In a great location and I felt well taken care of. Ended up staying 3 nights instead of 1 because I loved it so much. Exactly what I needed.

Breakfast was fresh, area was clean and spacious. Attendant was very helpful in restocking items.
