Helpful staff, accessible parking great stay overall

Needed a room for 1 night prior to my naturalization ceremony the following day. The room was comfortable, clean and in a good location for my needs. The beds were very comfortable. All at a very reasonable price.

Howard Johnson Wyndham Pasadena was a great place to stay. Although the property is dated, it was clean and felt safe. The location was excellent! Freeway access was easy and there were enough dining options around the property. The only problem we encountered was the lack of enough handicap parking stalls. Other than that, we would highly recommend this property.

The respect from staff and the quietness

Booked this hotel since it had a pool so my kids could swim. The pool is just a few feet deep and no longer than 7-8 ft long. You couldn’t swim if you wanted to. It’s also right in the middle of the dirty parking lot where a bunch of people were smoking, despite the “No Smoking” signs. We cancelled the reservation immediately upon pulling in and went elsewhere.

The accommodations were sufficient and price was reasonable for an overnight stay. The room floor could’ve been vacuumed better, but the bedsheets and pillows were comfortable. The shower water pressure was also good so I was happy about that. The staff was available and someone always sitting at the front desk for assistance.

Exceptional

I extended my stay for 1 more day and when checking out Tuesday June 2nd, I called to request a late checkout. The man at the front desk at approximately 10:45 said "no you're already late" I stated I was requesting to pay the 20$ for checkout at 1 and he yelled and said no. I asked if it was not available as stated in the email from howard johnson and he yelled no again, I asked why not and he stated "because I said so". After this he said be out by 12 and hung up. This was extremely unprofessional, rude and confusing when I requested to pay for this option.

Disappointing

The pillows were too flat but otherwise the bed was great.

This is a nice place to stay. It is not fancy. It is not a Hilton level property. But it is quiet, friendly and safe. Parking is free and nearby. Rooms are quiet. Housekeeping is tremendous--the only place I have been that has pre-pandemic level housekeeping services.
