Aloft by Marriott Raleigh

When we checked in, we were given room 207. This room was on the ground floor near the lobby, and the floor to ceiling windows faced the second floor of the parking lot in the rear of the property. There were cars parked directly outside of our window. The air conditioner in the room was extremely noisy as it cycled on and off during the night making sleep all but impossible. Essentially what we wound up with was a $40 per night motel experience but we paid $250 for it. On the positive side, the location of the hotel directly across from the Clocktower at NC State, with a viewing deck facing Hillsborough Street was unique and very nice. This is a really nice area of Raleigh adjacent to the university. It really deserves a hotel that lives up to its price point. I’m a long time Marriott Bonvoy member and this was not my usual experience.

If you're looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay, this property fits the bill. There's no pool, breakfast, or coffee, but there is a very nice coffee shop on property. The staff, to a person, were very helpful and courteous. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Parking was good not much to do there but was ok

The location was amazing as far as being able to walk to events and grab something to eat. The problem was people walking by very noisily all hours of the night, as well as, trash trucks and vehicles. While the air conditioning was very cooling it was so loud it kept waking me up and eventually I had to turn it off to sleep.

Exceptional

Room was great size. Large TV which my husband liked. Bathroom was spacious. I think it was for handicapped because of all the bars in the low tub. Great for me. AC blew on me for 5 minutes and I froze in bed. Then it cut off and I was hot in 6 minutes. Repeated throughout the night. I thought I had turned it up, but I did not. That would have helped.

Parking was safe and convenient

The water does not get hot, ac is old and very loud in the room. The toiletries were all empty.

Convenience was main feature. Room adequate for 1 night stay. Bathroom very small. A nicer chair, other than plastic one, would have been nice. No place to sit but bed or plastic chair.

Loved everything about it!! Great area. I thought the noise of traffic would be loud but it wasn't. 10 out of 10 recommend

Great view of the tower

We loved how clean the hotel was & how close it was to NC State’s campus. The parking garage was also attached to the hotel with plenty of parking so that was super convenient.

Also, I discovered that our room phone did not work when I needed to call the front desk.

The hotel was clean, staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious. Perfect if you are spending time at NC State as everything was walkable. Good restaurants were just a short car ride away.
