The building is incredible, and a great place to stay in the city - quiet, comfortable, and very close to everything downtown. Staff were warm and friendly, the facilities were very clean, the bed was comfortable. They have a deal worked out with a lovely cafe a couple blocks away so you can get a discount on meals and drinks there. The only walkable groceries are convenience stores/bodegas, but I expected that in a city. Would highly recommend, and I'll be back anytime I need to come through Sacramento.

Didn’t actually end up staying the night but it was a great spot. The staff was super helpful and friendly, the bunks seemed pretty nice in the shared female dorm and I’m sure had I actually spent the night, it would’ve been great.

Great value and safe if you're downtown.

The people there are absolutely wonderful. It was my first time staying in a hostel at the young age of 67. They helped me out with every question I had. They’re very accommodating wonderful to be with. I immediately felt very comfortable. Next time I go through Sacramento. I’ll be staying there again.

Such a unique property! Prepare to stay in a gorgeous Victorian mansion restored to be a first-rate hostel. Lots of beautiful common spaces. Very friendly staff and nice vibes.

Outstanding stay. Like staying in a beautiful historic mansion. Great location. Parking and clean. I really enjoyed my stay there and would love to stay again.
-
Great place to stay, very reasonable, beautiful old mansion. Clean, quiet, and very walkable. Great location close to old Sacramento, and the capital.

The place itself will take you back yo the past. . Just like a museum. Lots of memorabilia antiques and vintage that tell you a story. House structure is superb. From a dramatic light at night; The siren of the old trees waiving by the winds. To the whistle of birds combining tones creates music in my ears. Whhat else I can say.

It’s a storied building out of the gold rush era and the insides look the part. It’s not till you get to the kitchen and room that it looks like an organized hostel. Location is central Sacramento close to the capitol and restaurants. Pretty convenient! Fun stay!

Ghost town and its loud in shared dorm
-
Awesome reminders to be eco-conscious. So refreshing and welcome!
-
No shops near by, but very close to the Amtrak, perfect for what I needed.
-
Beautiful room right in central area of Sacramento. Walking distance to Golden one center! Went for a concert. Highly recommend
-
The room was clean and the place was full of friendliness and charm.
-
Room was okay except one bed sagged badly on one side. The sound carried loudly between adjoining rooms.
-
Beautiful building, good parking, nice private room only issue was an old mattress

Everything was on point. I had a warm night

There are three flights of stairs with no elevator, and you would think there’s some level of accessibility for those with mobility aids given that it says the hostel is “wheelchair accessible (with limitations)” but there are ONLY limitations. Zero accessibility. There aren’t even ramps for the front door, you’re required to go up more stairs to get into the building. It’s an impossible stay if you rely on a mobility aid and/or cannot do long treks up stairs. Don’t stay here if you are disabled or have any physical limitations that would make this as awful and painful for you as it was for me.
