We arrived very tired after a very early flight and a long day of travel from Australia. We received a warm welcome, were given all the hotel information and some complimentary noodles. Great spot close to two stations. Yes, as others have said, our room was tiny. We managed quite well by putting our cases open under the bed. Easy to get things out of. The bed was comfortable, water was hot, WiFi good and we had a kettle to make our own tea/coffee. Towels clean and no smell in bathroom. We stayed 4 nights and had our room serviced once on a day we had chosen. You can, however, get fresh towels daily if you want. There is a coffee shop next door where we had breakfast each day. We found a number of restaurants down the street and for those who would like to do their own thing, there is a fantastic supermarket just a few doors up called Life. We didn’t have a car so cannot help with info there. As someone else mentioned previously, our room keys suddenly stopped working. On reporting it to reception, the matter was resolved immediately. The door lock just needed a new battery. We would certainly stay again.

Hotel is close to a couple of main train stations (Kanamecho and Ikebukuro). Lots of eateries, shopping amd convenient stores all within walking distance from the hotel. Hotel was quiet despite being on a busy street Hotel offer virtually no amenities (no lobby, no housekeeping, no restaurant, no place to sit) and the rooms are tiny even by Japanese standard. Good luck storing your large suitcase(s) inside your room. The worse part is the bathroom. Think of an airplane lavatory with a small shower. The Asta Hotel is suited for a leisure solo traveler (like myself with minimal baggage) or overnight business traveler.

Cleanliness, location and staff. Occasional sewage smell from restroom. Towels given by cleaning staff had a mildew smell to them. I usually would request new towels from the front desk.

The room is clean. No

The area around the hotel has really good food, its between a cafe and ice cream shop and beyond that there's plenty of more restaurants in the neighborhood. Though the room itself was small I didn't really have a problem with it, it was clean and they give you pretty much everything you need. Bathroom didn't smell great for the first couple of days that I was there, it smelled like sewage but it eventually went away. On the day of my check out my card stopped working, I got to my room after midnight and I couldn't get in, fortunately the staff provided me an actual key so it was more of a minor inconvenience but still annoying.

Must leave card in room key holder for it to have power so after long days out the room becomes warm.

James, front staff was very polite and kind to me. When I had trouble with my room TV, he ran to my room and fixed it right away. He listened to my requests. He made my stay so comfortable. Thank you, James

just a bit too far from Kanamecho or Ikebukuro station to be comftable.

Location was great

Was really close to the train station and have a family market in front, the bed is good and the staff was okay. It’s pretty small, and the shower its a nightmare, was never heating up, and from nowhere the shower just get cold. Yes the room it’s small we have 4 bags . 2 cabin bags and 2 checked bags and we were not able to open both checked bags at the same time. And the acoustic of the room is terrible, we were at 10th floor and was able to listen all the sounds from the others guests when they were passing in the corridor and open and closing doors or other sounds.
-
The shower Very small room A continuous noise from airconditions even though it was switched off. I reported to the staff but they didn't bother
-
The room was compact, but it is Tokyo, so expected. Shower was nice and the bed was comfy. Easy walk to train stations, a coffee shop and a late night crepe place next door. Nothing

The hotel room is great for 1! The hotel location is my favorite as there are a lots of hidden gems in the neighborhood! They don’t provide luggage sending service to Airport but they allow me to leave my luggage for almost the full day. Usually I wasted the whole day when I move to the next hotel. But this time I checked out at 10am, went to explore more of Ikebukuro and went back to collect at 7+pm.
