In spite of reading many positive reviews of this place, I wondered how clean and nice a place called Chuckwagon Lodge and Store would be, Well, the answer is, very clean, very nice, great staff, and a well-equipped general store open well into the evening, with incredibly friendly staff. Great location. As an added bonus, during our two-night stay, we struck up conversations with two different groups of travelers, both times spending a half-hour or more exchanging pleasant experiences and ideas with them, This place just seems to draw friendly and sociable travelers,

Wonderful stay. The room was spotless. The staff was friendly. The kids enjoyed the pool. And, it was a great base for exploring Capitol Reef.

The staff wasn’t not helpful or even thankful after my husband fixed the sink! The General Store prices were outrageous!!

On the morning of checkout, we loaded up our luggage and went to have breakfast at the deli on the property. We wanted to return to the room after breakfast before checking out to use the bathroom and wash our hands before getting on the road so we didn’t turn in our key. They had old fashion keys (not electronic keys)to the room so they had to be turned in

This place was a good stopover for us on our way to Capitol Reef. Comfy beds, clean room, dining options nearby, nice pool area and a decent spa. The cottonwoods surrounding the property are lovely.

Amazing place with all the amenities close by (laundery mat, general store, small restaurents). Very clean and cosy rooms. Would recommand to anyone in Torrey!
