Everything was fine. Friendly staff and great location.

We stayed at Ramada by Wyndham Austin South from April 25–30, 2026, and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. At around 1:00 AM, we were woken up by a cockroach crawling on my cousin’s arm in bed. This was shocking and completely unacceptable. We immediately went to reception and were moved to another room. The second room had visible moisture damage on the walls, and we did not feel comfortable staying there. At this point, it was already around 2:00 AM, and we had to go back to reception yet again to request another room. Being forced to change rooms multiple times in the middle of the night severely disrupted our sleep. During this process, we also noticed that several of the rooms we were shown were clearly not properly cleaned. We found used nicotine pouches near the beds and bedding that appeared visibly dirty. In the room we finally ended up in, we even found another insect in the bathroom the next morning. At that point, we no longer felt comfortable or safe staying at the hotel. While one of the receptionists (Viktor) was kind and helpful, this does not make up for the overall lack of cleanliness and poor handling of the situation. We were offered a 50% refund for one night, which we already felt was insufficient given the severity of the issues. However, at the time of writing this review, we still have not received any compensation. Overall, this experience was far below expectations and significantly impacted both our nights and days during the stay. I would not recommend staying here.

Both rooms we were in smelled musty. Not enough towels for 4 of us. Pool had green algae in some areas and didn’t have pool towels. When we asked we were told they hadn’t been washed. Staff was friendly and tried their best, but hotel is just rundown. Owners need to do a better job at overall maintenance. Breakfast was a nice addition and restaurant next door was good.

The first room they initially had me in the shower was not working and they don’t like to answer the phone when you wanna call down to the lobby they will have you call 4 to 5 times and till they answer the phone then when they switched me over to the second room. It was no phone in there for me to contact them anyway so I still have to go back-and-forth back-and-forth to try to get what I needed in my room. It was just a bs experience and they just don’t care for real. They just care about the money as long as you keep giving them money that’s all they care about they don’t care about how you stay was. They don’t care how clean rooms are they don’t care if anything works in here and it shouldn’t be like That. Also, I have my reservation from Wednesday to Saturday and Friday. My key wasn’t working if I’m staying till Saturday and I gave you the money for Wednesday to Saturday why would you do that to my key?

Sketchy activity around and in the hotel.

Clean rooms. Great pool. Very supportive staff. A really great hotel for the reasonable rate.

The price There was a moldy smell in the entire building. The room door was hard to open. There was rust on the bathroom hinges that was painted over to hide. The PTAC had a mold smell to it that made the room stink. The mattress had a massive stain on it.
