Holiday Inn Express Akron NW - Fairlawn by IHG

The experience was just ok but not what we expect from holiday in express. The room had a slight weird funky smell like sewer gases and the fitted sheet would not stay on the bed. I have to use a cpap machine and I smelled a chemical smell like carpet deoderizer. We stayed 2 nights and the longer I was in the room I felt nauseous. Its Time to look for a different option when we go see a show at blossom music center

Stayed here for our visit into Akron to see Lucy Darling. Was clean, everyone was nice and helpful, location was great, and definitely a restay place.

Staff was excellent, greeted us with smile and wonderful attitude, only two problem, ice machine out of service first floor and swimming pool water seemed dirty

Hadn’t been home in years. My stay was quiet and comfortable.

Breakfast was okay. My husband said the coffee was good. We enjoyed having a place to sit and read in the back court yard. The fitted sheet on our bed didn’t fit well kept coming off, was a little annoying.

Great property! Great location with plenty of dining and shopping within walking distance. Large room, comfy bed, helpful staff.

Safe environment

Parking was good, breakfast was good, rooms could have been a little cleaner-corners, headboards, etc. But overall good stay.

There was hair in the tub. The bed had some stains in them. But this is a one auth.

The staff went above and beyond to help me plan a special birthday stay for my wife. Even with me living out of town, they assisted with coordinating every detail, including allowing me in early to decorate the room in advance of her getting there, which made the experience truly memorable for her. This is where we are booking anytime we're in the Akron area.

We were given a room on the second floor. Upon entering the room, the door would not close. the upper part of the door over hung the side of the frame at least a quarter of an inch due to the upper hinges being sprung. I called the desk and the young lady brought us up a key to another room. upon her arrival, I showed her the door, whereupon she grabbed the handle and lifted the door to get it to close. She said you have to lift the door. No. You should not have to lift a door to close it. The next room, had the same problem plus the heating and air unit fan was making a rattling racket. We lifted the door closed upon exiting and proceeded down stairs to tell her that room was no good. The third room had a slightly sprung upper hinge but the door would close on it's own and the fan was quiet. The main complaint with the room was when going to bed, the fitted king size sheet did not fit the king size mattress and when you laid upon it, it would pull up around you and after reading other reviews about the same problem, we figured it would be a waste of time to request new sheets so we used safety pins to hold the sheet down. Upon arriving at the breakfast, most of the warming dishes were empty and we had to wait for replenishment, which took a while. The juice dispenser had a note taped to the front that said "OUT", so no juice. Needless to say, this will definitely be our last stay at this location and more than likely our last stay at any Holiday Inn Express.

one of my guest is covered in bed bug bites and now having to clean entire house, let alone what she is feeling

This property is not clean or well maintained however the front desk staff is excellent in accommodating

The sheets and pillow cases didn't seem to have been washed, there were black mascara marks on them. There was hair on bathroom floor. The lotion, shampoo and conditioner bottles were empty on our 2nd morning.
