The property is highly maintained. All the employees are very friendly and helpful. As walking in the front door and one of the employees was watering down the sidewalk mention I should be careful. I said I had had surgery in my knee and I’m still recuperating and he took my hand and walked me to the door and open the door for me which was very nice cause I was afraid of falling. Everybody from the front desk to just running into one of the other employees in the hall are very friendly and helpful.

Good location and helpful staff

Wonderful surprise and fun hotel.. Loved the style and look. The location is funny-- but in general, an easy trip to the airport-- and I recommend if you have a layover or want a chill spot to go..

Beautiful spacious areas The pool was quite small

We’ve stayed at Ayres Hotels in several major beach destinations throughout California since discovering them during COVID, and they have consistently exceeded our expectations. Ayres strikes the perfect balance between boutique charm and affordability. The properties are clean, welcoming, and family-friendly without sacrificing comfort or quality. The staff has always treated us exceptionally well, making every stay feel personal and relaxing. One feature we especially appreciate is the thoughtful layout of the common areas. There are multiple comfortable seating spaces throughout the hotel, making it easy to gather, work, or simply unwind. The fitness center may be small, but it’s well-maintained and has everything needed for a good workout. And a surprisingly underrated perk: the conveniently located restrooms on the main floor. When you’re traveling with family and the bathroom in your room is occupied, you’ll be grateful for this thoughtful touch. If you’re looking for a hotel that doesn’t break the bank and never misses the mark, Ayres is an easy choice. We continue to return year after year and highly recommend it to anyone traveling throughout California. N/A

Convenient to basic needs (Costco), entertainment (SoFi, Intuit, Forum) and beach front walk (Manhattan Beach). Clean rooms, beautiful courtyard, food onsite. Great and friendly staff. Shuttle services are too late (12 noon, no morning)

Conveniently right off the 405, walking through the door transports you to a chateau in Italy. Very friendly staff; very large room with very tall ceilings; very reasonable price for the value. Will definitely stay here again, if we make the trek south again.

Plusses: great location, lots of shopping & food options nearby, big room & comfy bed Minuses: uncaring staff, only "meh" restaurant, freeway noise due to proximity to I-405 • Plusses speak for themselves. For nights 2 & 3 I walked to nearby restaurants & had yummy seafood & Mexican dinners. For breakfast I went to a close Starbuck's that cost a fraction of hotel breakfast. • Minuses – where to start? Hotel staff claimed my Expedia reservation was "canceled". Rather, Expedia offered me a reasonably-priced upgrade to the top suite at the hotel ~5 days before, which I jumped on. Why upgrade did not go through, I have no clue. Fortunately, staff person "found" me the originally booked room for a higher price, meaning they did not honor the original Expedia price. Desperate, I said yes. • Mental note – next time, immediately go to Expedia app & see if same hotel pops up. I did this only AFTER I had gotten to my room. Had I done so at check-in, the room booked via the app would have been cheaper than what I was originally going to pay. Steak fingers on night #1 were disappointing & looked nothing like restaurant pic. Same person who checked me out last morning. I registered displeasure of having to pay more which the retort was "at least we got you a room". If you stay here, insist that room overlook the patio and NOT be on the outside wall. The traffic noise of I-405 was continuous, so I ran A/C as white noise to block out sound. Will I go back? Unlikely.

One thing I noticed is that the value has changed over the years. Parking used to be complimentary and breakfast was included, but both now come with additional charges. For this stay, I booked through Expedia rather than directly with the hotel, which is what I normally do. I’m not sure if that made a difference, but I was assigned a handicap-accessible room that I did not request. What was even more surprising was that the room was located quite far from the elevator. When I questioned it, I was told that I had booked that room type, which was not the case. The only positive part of my experience was the housekeeping staff, who were friendly and pleasant throughout my stay. Unfortunately, this visit left me disappointed. After many years of staying here, I will likely explore other hotel options in the Manhattan Beach area for future getaways.

Nice hotel in a convenient location close to the beach, LAX and SOFI stadium. Complimentary shuttle to the Manhattan Beach was a nice addition. The beds were comfortable, can't comment on other amenities since we spent little time inside the hotel.

Over all the property was clean Great price The only issue was a musty smell when you walked in the room
-
Great location and not a lot of traffic compared to other parts of California. Rooms are extremely clean but they had the drip line for condensation for the ac above the sink and it was dripping all day and night. But I would recommend this place to anyone. Staff is also very friendly.

Not good as to room location as our room was right next to the freeway so it was quite noisy.

Great place. Small but nice pool. The bar manager, Eric, was so kind and helpful. Esya at the front desk gave us a warm welcome upon our late arrival. Bring earplugs. The highway noise at night is not terrible, but it’s there. Ask for a courtyard view room. In room wi-fi was perfect for both of us to work online. I taught successfully via Zoom three times. Would stay again!
