This hotel is a true gem! We felt like a piece of old Hollywood glamour has been preserved. It has been sympathetically updated, making it comfortable, yet retaining the charm of yesteryear. The Edmon bar is a must-experience part of the hotel. The art-deco interior is delightful. The bartenders are professional and passionate in their mixology. Take advantage of Happy Hour for best prices. The reception staff are great with recommendations. Take our advice and leave your vehicle parked—use taxi or Uber to get where you need to go. We even braved the transit system to get to Santa Monica!

Note - if with children, can’t enter the bar/restaurant or even the outdoor dining area which was annoying

We stayed on a Friday night for a concert at the Greek. I would stay here again. We especially loved the happy hour menu at the The Edmon Bar and Kitchen. The staff was super nice and the food and drinks were fantastic. The room was very clean and we slept great.

Great hotel and staff. Location was a problem as you can’t walk anywhere
-
Extremely clean. Room cleaned to a great standard. Have to get an Uber everywhere as LA is huge. Adjoining bar/restaurant was lovely

Nice hotel, with good comfortable room. The in room amenities were basic, e.g. no tea/coffee facilities

The staff was very helpful and easy going. The hotel is old and smelly. If your room is facing the street you will hear the cars and street noise from 4 am to 1 am of the next day. Very bad noise isolation. The hotel location is advertised as in Hollwyood which geografically it is but don't get fooled, it is in a corner of Hollwyood far from most of the attractions that Hollwyood has to offer. On the plus side, there is a bar and a restaurant in the first floor, a coffe/bakery shop and some other nice restaurants in walking distance. The area does not feel very safe walking after dark. Paramount Studios are also in walking distance.

Loved staying here. Could see the Hollywood sign from the window. Convenient location and low cost to park for a few days. Was able to walk to the Palladium where we were seeing a show. Would have liked to have checked out the restaurant/bar but couldn’t as I had my 17 yo with me (it’s 21 and over). Very charming though.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at the Hollywood Historic Hotel. If you appreciate history, character, and old Hollywood charm, this place is a true gem. From the moment we arrived, the hotel felt special. The historic architecture, beautiful staircases, vintage photographs, and classic atmosphere made us feel like we had stepped back into another era. We found ourselves exploring the hallways and admiring the history throughout the building. Our room was clean, comfortable, quiet, and full of character. The high ceilings and unique layout added to the charm, and everything was well maintained. A special thank you to Dillon, who checked us in around 11:00 PM. He was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. After a long day, his warm attitude immediately made us feel at home. Employees like Dillon are a big part of what makes a stay memorable. What we loved most was that the hotel embraces its history instead of hiding it. So many hotels feel the same, but this one has a story to tell. Staying here felt like becoming part of a piece of Hollywood history. We made wonderful memories during our visit and would gladly stay here again. Thank you to the Hollywood Historic Hotel—and especially Dillon—for making our trip so special.

The hotel's history with photos of movie stars, etc. was interesting. It's nearly 100 years old. The building is very dated. Neighborhood was a little rough. Parking was an extra cost.

This is an old hotel, the facilities are tired and dated. It does however have charm and it’s different to chain hotels, so that’s all good. No AC was disappointing.

The hotel is a little old, but it's clean; the staff is nice and helpful. Breakfast was closed (SAD), and the bar looks great.
