The staff were so helpful and friendly. Megan checked us in and provided helpful information for our stay, she gave excellent customer service. The location of the hotel is within walking distance to Ellen Browning Scripps Park and many great restaurants and shops.

good stay

Very nice staff. Very small rooms. The rooms on the street level are like motel rooms where you enter the room from the outside are very loud. There is only one very small window so very little light in the room and not many lamps. Room is very dark. The air conditioning was very loud and probably why ear plugs are provided on the bedside.
-
My only negative was that our room was directly under the rooftop restaurant. We could hear chair and table movement from our room and it was loud. Luckily, on the weeknights the restaurant is only open until 9pm, so it wasn’t that big of a deal as we are night owls. However, if this is something that would bother you, I’d suggest getting a room that is not directly under the restaurant.

Beautiful view from hotel, clean rooms, but not very spacious, our room was next to the hotel restaurant restroom and guest would make line in front of our room door. I only inquired about an early check in weeks before my arrival through their chat service and was automatically charged 50.00 for early check in without my authorization. I had to request a refund upon my departure and they indicated it was an error.

We had drinks at bar which was very busy but we found a spot at bar. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable including valet car and having it ready prior to my departure. Highly recommend this hotel.

We had an amazing stay ! Super clean and convenient.

Great location
-
Situated in a very noisy area. Lots of traffic noise. In addition, we were in a room right below a rooftop bar that was open late. After it closed, they move furniture to clean floors and drag chairs across floors right above you. Horribly noisy and impossible to sleep. Would never go back.
-
The room was small, with an awkward angled entrance at the bathroom door. The view from our room was perfect. I did find the bed to be a little bit uncomfortable. We also found it hard to regulate the temperature. With the air conditioner off, it was quite warm in the room. But with the oscillating air air-conditioning unit on, it was immediately ice cold and freezing. We were also on the third floor with the restaurant right above us. The chairs from the restaurant scraping on the floor above creating very loud noises right after closing. We assumed it was from the restaurant staff cleaning up after closing. Overall, though, I would stay there again. The location and service were both great.

Charming room with a beach view balcony. The staff were amazing.

The hotel was incredible and the staff was amazing and helpful.

Fantastic stay! The hotel is in a perfect, central location but still feels incredibly cute and cozy. A huge highlight was the excellent rooftop restaurant—amazing food and views. Every staff member we encountered was warm, helpful, and welcoming. Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay! The location is incredible, the staff were so helpful and very welcoming and overall we had everything we needed. The rooms are smaller but didn’t bother us at all as our view was beautiful! We also loved the rooftop restaurant which had awesome food! Love the valet that comes with the hotel as they would bring your car when you needed and park it when you didn’t. Just overall enjoyed our stay and will absolutely stay there again!

i had the best time!! i had just gotten married and they put a free bottle of champagne for us and everyone was so kind and helpful. the beach is only a 2 minute walk which was also super fun. definitely will be back here next time i stay in La Jolla.

The location is perfect. Walking distance to everything.

The noise — both street and interior — was a significant and persistent issue throughout my stay. It was loud enough that the hotel thoughtfully provides earplugs in the room, which tells you everything you need to know. For anyone who values rest and quiet, this is not the place. Service was consistently transactional at best. The warmth that other reviewers mention was not my experience. At Birdseye rooftop I waited approximately seven minutes without being acknowledged, and general interactions with staff throughout my stay felt perfunctory rather than welcoming. The concept is charming and the location is prime La Jolla. But future guests should go in with carefully managed expectations — particularly around noise and the accuracy of what’s advertised.
-
The views are nice but there is no noise reduction requirements for cars or motorbikes in the town so it can get REALLY noisy.
-
Decent sized room. Small lobby. Valet was decent but allow 10-15 minutes which they will advise you. Fun location. Seal rock is just down the hill where you will see the seals hanging out sleeping in the sun 😀

Extremely convenient location, valet your car all weekend and enjoy the area. Restaurant upstairs has a beautiful view and is a cute date spot. Super comfortable beds and great shower.
