Kimpton Hotel Palomar South Beach by IHG

The property was amazing. The rooftop pool was key very peaceful angelic. It definitely was a nice getaway central location to decent food spots and if you needed to go to any banking options that have multiple around and if you took an Uber 20 minutes at most early morning to the airport.

Room was always clean, the staff was alright when it came to certain things. Mostly everyone speaks Spanish, breakfast is not of service they have a cafe downstairs, but pricing. If you have a rental it’s 49.00 a night to have valet park it. Over all the stay was alright.

Hotel and staff were very good. Could of been more coffee available throughout the day / evening at reception as no coffee making facilities in the room and nothing close by to buy a coffee. Still waiting for an invoice.

Negatives -: photos of pool area very well taken compared to actual experience, bar area looks very tired (although bar men was excellent) free shuttle bus and pre paid beach chairs not explained to us by booking in staff, only found out after checking out after 2 nights, gap under room door that wide that the lights from the hallway illuminate the room in the night, although a nice hotel would book closer to the beach front for the same cost next time

Great hotel with rooftop pool. Lovely staff working there. Nothing.

Rooms were fine but the bathroom had issues. First clogged sink and a sliding bathroom door that did not move. These were fixed when we asked. The shower was leaking water into the room though and after every shower we needed to use the towels to wipe the area outside the bathroom.

Room, location, service. I requested and paid for an early check in, as I flew into Miami on a red eye. Suffice to say, I had to wait ages for a room.

Close enough to the beach and they even take you there on a small taxi every 20 minutes. Very well located for the price No breakfast options for a budget, NO FREE WATER IN THE ROOM, I mean, not even a single 600ml bottle. They offer 24/7 free water at the lobby but it is orange/pinaple/lemon infused, and you have to use the plastic glasses they have there. Most of the staff was kind and helpful, but some of them have to work on their customer service skills

Nice pool and room The parking was not included. Left my phone charger in the room and they said I didn’t leave it. I called several times and it was difficult to get through.

Exceptional

Nice staff (reception, restaurant, valet, pool barman, driver, everyone was great!), both room and common areas were clean and cozy. A bit over priced considering it is not close to landmarks nor the beach, the room was overlooking a construction site and you could hear drilling as early as 7 am, balconies are so close (and windows apparently poor) that we had bad smell coming in the room from neighbours smoking outside. Also expect zero flexibility for late check-out, we asked for an extra hour and a half and they would have charged us 150 $.

The hotel is in walking distance to a lot of great places. The complimentary beach shuttle is a great way to get anywhere on south beach.
