Very fun hotel in a good neighborhood close to Public Library and Grand Central station. The staff was great, friendly and helpful. The sitting/living room was a wonderful place to sit, read, and enjoy coffee and snacks. We will return.

Conveniently located at 41st and Madison, just a block away from Bryant Park, the public library, the 42nd street subway stop and 5th Avenue shopping. The 2nd floor lounge is a quiet spot to reset with complimentary snacks, beverages and fruit. The rooms are typical New York small but cozy with the cute library theme. For those who receive complimentary breakfast at the adjacent Madison & Vine restaurant, the food is fine but the service is inconsistent and slow.

The location is very convenient and busy. It is easy to accomplish everything, banking, shopping, Grand Central Station just one block away. Very close to Bryant Park which is always fun. There is a very nice lounge with complementary fruit croissants and coffee It is a quiet hotel designed for quiet adults. I did not eat at the restaurant but it looked very nice In my first room the television didn’t work and the air-conditioning was not adequate. The front desk was very responsive to my problems and they did get them fixed by the next morning. They offered me an upgrade to make up for my inconvenience.

A bit disappointing to know the rooftop bar was only available with a dress code. After a full day of site seeing it would've been a great end of the day experience but not worth a change of clothing.

The library theme was perfect for booklovers! The reading room was a lovely space to snack, decompress, and meet new book-loving friends! Staff were very friendly and helpful. There was construction happening outside my room and the Front Desk was able to quickly switch me to a quieter room. Bookmarks (the bar) was also a highlight and such a vibe! The rooms and bedding appeared a little worn and outdated.

Rooms were very clean, AC was hit or miss, didn't seem to be working at the end of my stay.

Great location, mid-town Manhattan, a block from the famous NY public library, could see it from the room. The library theme was evident everywhere, wish I had time to delve into the many books on offer in the room and elsewhere. Nice bar at the top, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. Minimal breakfast offerings but good coffee which is my main objective. Hard to think of anything, was expensive but that's NYC. There was scaffolding around the property which detracted from the views, but was a minor issue.

Great position for sight-seeing (esp. as close to Grand Central. Clean, large enough room with everything we needed. Very comfy bed and quiet enough room. The best thing was the coffee, cans and snacks that were available 24/7 in The Reading Room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Front door services are great.

The rooms are little- but you are in NYC to explore, not hang in the room. It’s close to easy cab hailing, restaurants, theater, shopping. The book theme is clever and works great so close to the main branch. I’d love to see other rooms. We’ll return!

Location was very convenient. I particularly liked the second floor lounge with free coffee and soft drinks, fruit and croissants. Great place to hang out midst the books. Clever decor. Very friendly and helpful staff My petite room was small, as expected, but quite dark. But clever to use books and bookshelves as decor
