great central downtown location. Staff were great and hotel was very clean, comfortable and safe. Stayed in a suite with kitchen facilities which was great for the time we were there. Parking is at the carpark next door and simple to arrange but is not covered in cost of the room. definitely recommend.

Breakfast was at above the minimum of acceptable. A step up better than LaQuinta or Holiday Inn level. There was good quantity and did not run out early considering the hotel was almost full. Over-all, breakfast was worthwhile and we appreciated the added value of that. I loved the aspect of the old historic federal building. The hotel was quiet outside and inside. Never a wait for elevators. Hotel day staff were energetic and taking care of things. The room was very spacious and a generous sized kitchen. Lighted bathroom mirror. Shampoo/Cond and body wash were very nice. Towels were thick. Room service came after 2nd full day and refreshed everything nicely. The guys running the Valet were top notch as well. Cleanliness. The hotel was older of course but it looked and felt dirty. Carpets in main areas were very noticeably in need of a vacuum. Honestly, carpet should be removed from elevators. Lots of trash debris on the floors all 3 days of our stay. Never cleaned. Hallways needed swept and vacuumed too. Our room was iffy. Artificial fingernail found on the floor. Trash particles and dust in corners and along baseboards. Hair on bathroom vanity- not ours. The pillows were rather sad. Flat feather with no volume or lift. Impossible to prop ones head up even using 3 pillows. The sheets and bedding were clean and comfortable enough.

We were told by the hotel that we could park in the parking garage next to the hotel and pay for the garage and be fine. Well we did that and got a $50 charge for our rental car saying we had a parking violation.

Nice hotel within walking distance of bars, resturants and shopping. Go to breakfast before 9, when we gor there most things were out including the juices, oatmeal, forks, plates. What we did get was good.

Great location. Short 15 minute walk to the old market, 10 minute drive to the airport, short drive to the zoo and gardens. Parking was expensive

Helpful staff, pleasant stay. A bit dated and loud hallways due to flooring. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Personal was great. Everyone was nice helpful. The building is old which is fine but our room you could see the age furniture worn. No hot water in bathroom sink. Took a long time to get hot water in shower Hallways seemed dirty. Could just be the age. House cleaning every other day. Seems tobe a way to cut down overhead on a hotel that may be loosing money. Even with all this the stay was pleasant. Stuff again was great. Ans above

Breakfast was enjoyable, the dining area was pleasant, and the room itself was comfortable. I always appreciate hotels that offer a mini kitchen and a full-size refrigerator—Residence Inn by Marriott consistently delivers on that. Both the room and bathroom were clean, and the front desk attendant was courteous and professional. My favorite feature was the abundance of mirrors throughout the space. The location was also ideal for the Holland Performing Arts Center, just about a five-minute walk. It’s not a major concern, but it seems the showerhead or faucet may need to be replaced. The water isn’t flowing properly toward the showerhead and is instead dripping in the wrong direction.

On the downside, there’s a courtyard/patio area where music plays 24 hours a day, so sleeping with the windows open isn’t practical. We also requested a late checkout the day before and were told it wasn’t possible because the hotel was fully booked. However, when we mentioned this at checkout along with having to spend an extra two hours at the airport we were told we actually could have stayed longer. By then, we had already packed and come downstairs. Otherwise it would have been a 5 star review.
