Spark by Hilton Roanoke Airport

Customer Service …. Good or great … can win you over unless everything else fails! Spark was very good considering the low price. In our case, it was just a stop over to get to another town. We flew in on the new American Airlines service DFW to ROA — Roanoke Airport. It’s a late flight to ROA so by the time we landed and the free shuttle by Hilton picked us up, we didn’t get in our room until midnight. There was no hot water at the hotel but by the next morning there was hot water so that’s not a complaint! I think they got their issue figured out and repaired. We also stayed one night on the way back to DFW. It’s kind of a bare bones hotel room, but it was very clean. It was an old hotel that was gutted and renovated. The Hilton shuttle service to and from the airport is extremely helpful although it’s not always available right when you need it, there are six Hilton hotels using the shuttle service. Still, because of the price, renovation and the cleanliness we probably would stay again for a night or two.

Hotel itself was great

Clean room, helpful staff. I asked if there were complimentary toothbrushes and toothpaste which I received. After the visit I learned that they were in fact not “complimentary,” meaning free. Wouldn’t have gotten it had I known that. Otherwise, it was a good experience.

Nice clean property. Would definitely stay again. The only thing I wish they had was regular half and half for my coffee in the morning. Everything else was good.

Very clean room. Shower was great. Breakfast was as expected. Bagels, cereal, yogurt, muffins. All good.

The price and It was close to shopping locations like food and gas. I didn't have any particularly negative issues with the hotel although it seems to be situated/connected to two other hotels. The facility is somewhat old and there are stairs to enter the hotel.

I like the style of the rooms. The rooms are clean, and the amenities are nice. The gym is also nice. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

The check in process was lacking.. Just got asked to see my ID and then got handed my roomkey without even telling me my room number or where the elevators were. I wouldnt say they were rude but not welcoming or friendly at all.

Very clean hotel, friendly staff, and very nice continental breakfast with very good hot coffee. Would definitely stay again.

No coffee or hot water machine in any of the rooms. There is a microwave and small fridge. But if you want coffee tea late at night or early in the morning, you have to go down to the breakfast area to get it, hoping they have a fresh pot of hot java or hot water. Breakfast was worse than no breakfast. No eggs of any kind, no waffles, some pre-packaged muffins and silos of cold cereal but that was about it. Very spartan breakfast. On the plus side the room was nice, the beds and pillows were super comfortable, the TV was huge, the bathroom was clean and spacious, and the desk area had lots of connection points. Desk chair, though, was plastic and uncomfortable with round rivets on the seating area sticking up on the edges. Solved by putting a pillow on the chair.
