The Lofts at Downtown Salem

Place was amazing. Bed was comfortable. Wifi was good. Super happy with our stay.

We booked a room as a layover on our way to western NC. To say we were blown away by this amazing property is an understatement. Each room is really a Smallwood furnished apartment complete with a full kitchen. Red brick walls and and timber beams, a comfortable living room, full well stocked kitchen and an extremely comfortable bedroom makes this our new go-to stopover. Next time we will stay a few nights and explore the Roanoke area more! Oh and there is a washer and dryer in the room! The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans and a dishwasher along with local coffee and a nice selection of tea and creamers. There is no or minimal staff on site on the weekends, access to the building and the rooms is granted via code you get when booking. The property is also stunning. We encourage everyone looking for a truly peaceful oasis to stay at the Lofts in Salem!!

We can’t rare this stay high enough! The vibe and stay was amazing! First, the room was comfortable and clean. It was nice to spread out and enjoy, having a separate sleep are from the main room was very nice. Contactless Checkin and room access was a breeze! We did not use the kitchen area, but we took note of being relatively stocked as far as eating (plates, utensils, etc) and a few pots and pans if you are interested. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The local area was great to walk and explore. Overall I can’t rate the stay high enough! We would definitely book again if we are in the area!

The property was great, pretty much all new. Not much in the way of amenities or staff, but walking distance to several great restaurants.

The entire set up, property and amenities exceeded our expectations. Great place. Everything top of the line. Cool vibe.

Overall, adorable room , plenty of space good water pressure, delicious coffee, excellent location, quiet and great tv selections. Need blackout curtains in the bedroom which they say they are getting.

Great place to stay

The room was very spacious; the kitchen is full-size well-equipped with coffee and teas. All the necessary things to cook and wash up. The bed and pillows were comfortable; the entire space was very clean and comfortable. The property is very quiet and centrally located to shopping, grocery and restaurants. There is a small farmers market across the street on Saturdays. The history and character of the building have been well preserved. I would definitely recommend staying at The Lofts. Nothing

We arrived in the dark on a very rainy night so finding the entrance and parking was a little tricky but the information we were given worked perfectly and we we delighted as soon as we were inside and were quite comfortable, Thank you!

I loved the atmosphere and uniqueness of the property. The way they renovated this former car showroom is impressive. We loved it so much we stayed an extra day. The one bedroom suite is so spacious.

It was large and bright and had all the amenities needed for our visit. It was also close to the restaurants and stores.

We have stayed here many times. It is always outstanding. The configuration of the room doesn't always work for us and it sells out regularly, otherwise we stay here. Sadly we won't be back to the region for awhile.

It is not sound proof. I couldn’t sleep and could everything next door and down stairs.
