Courtyard by Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront/North 37th Street

Overall I felt it was an incredibly overpriced room. Very bare bones. Yes nice to be right on the beach with balcony and view. Decent buffet breakfast and nice reception staff. However room held nothing special. Cleaners knocked on our door at 9 am. Gave us 3 new towels. Never came back to remove dirty towels, to clean tub or make beds. No wonder grout in tub/shower not well cleaned. Very underwhelming for $500 a night I have to say.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Room was very nice.

Towel hanger was not securely fastened to its mount and it fell off the wall onto my daughter’s foot. Left her a bruise. The Tv was not working found it plugged into a lamp and the lamp was not plugged into the wall. The set top box behind the tv was also unplugged. The shampoo and conditioner bottles empty upon arrival. Not low. Empty. Even after room service the shampoo and conditioner bottles were left empty. The gym was no better either. There’s 2 treadmills and only one was functional. The sanitation wipes were never refilled the entire stay. This hotel is worse than staying in an abandoned building. 0 stars absolutely a trash establishment.

The room was not all the way clean. There were leftover toothpicks on the floor and hair in shower.

Positive: early check in. Friendly staff willing to help when asked. Negatives: crumbs all over the room. Fridge leaking water and not cooling properly. Tv not working. Sliding doors hard to open and close. Neighboring room had guests smoking pot and cigarettes on the balcony and the smell wafted into our room. Extra door lock somehow engaged and locked us out of the room. Uncomfortable couch and chairs.

I've stayed practically everywhere in Virginia Beach. This is one of the best hotels.

Great room and amenities

The outside pool was cool Shower made awful noises and vibrated loudly , paint was chipping from ceiling, various items were rusted . No free breakfast or coffee.

The staff was excellent. The hotel is very clean. When going to the outdoor pool you cant bring a cooler, you have to spend $10 for a drink. The wifi at the hotel is terrible.

The amenities were great. I booked a suite King room 6 months prior to my stay and when I check in they gave me standard queen bed room, no suite. Bed was too small and we had to share the room with the child. Was very disappointed. Parking cost is out rageous.

We only stayed one night, loved the beach access.

The room was a great size and perfect for a family with two kids that needed to nap during the day in their own space. Balconies were great. The outdoor pool and pool bar made this hotel fantastic. The food was awful. The breakfast buffet that we paid extra for with our room was very cheaply made and I’m pretty sure the same food ( fruit salad, cottage cheese, eggs) were sitting out our entire stay. It’s crazy that buffet costs $20 per person. That buffet isn’t worth $5 per person.

Supposed to be every other day housekeeping. Only made beds once. Got our own towels every day.

The breakfast buffet exceeded my expectations! There were so many options every day!
