Hampton Inn Norfolk/Virginia Beach

The staff is friendly and the hotel is kept mostly clean. The property itself is not maintained well, the age of the hotel really shows, only one elevator was working when we arrived, by the time we left both elevators were out of order. The room smelled kinda musty as well as the hallways. Not a terrible stay, but definitely not the best either.

We booked here for night before cruise as a family. My father got bumped and sent to nasty hotel next door. We were given wrong room type. I should be fully refunded.

1. The space under the bed hadn’t been cleaned. Having dropped an item on the floor that had rolled under the bed, my wife discovered old candy and a pair of women’s underwear. 2. Breakfast was disappointing. No hard boiled eggs on our first morning. Plenty available on day 2. On both days of our stay all 3 three dry cereal options were of the sugar coated variety. Staff had a real problem keeping the lone milk dispenser filled. Lemon scones were small plus. 3. Housekeeping policy wasn’t explained on check in. I found 3 different versions depending on the site I checked (Expedia, Hilton honors, and the hotel’s. None stated that it’s every other day from day of check in, and this was explained only at checkout when I told the desk staff about the underwear under the bed. Staff did provide fresh towels after my wife went to the desk. In all, we’ll not stay at this particular property again. We chose Hampton because it’s been a good place to stay over the years.

We stayed here with our puppy for our son’s soccer tournament. The staff were kind and welcoming and greeted our pup with pets and treats. The continental breakfast was enjoyed by everyone in our family — especially our kids who loved the waffle bar. The room was clean and had everything we needed.

Staff very helpful. Breakfast was good with a good variety. disappointed in parking. web site said free parking but we were charged five dollars per day.
