Holiday Inn Charleston Riverview by IHG

Staff very friendly and Hotel was clean but older. Maybe a 5-6 rating but definitely not an 8 rating. Hotel is Wedged in the middle of a 8 lane highway and very dangerous pulling out and into hotel property. I was almost hit several times as the only exits from the hotel were on to this highway, pulling out from a complete stop entering in the fast lane on a bend so you could not see oncoming traffic, that was moving 60 plus MPH. Other than the parking lot you could walk to anything or access to river to walk. Each room had a small standing deck but you could not access because sliding doors were permanently sealed shut.

Comfortable beds and had everything we needed. Fantastic city views from rooftop restaurant! Only negative was the loud traffic noise of cars going by all through the night.

All your staff, very nice. Front desk, shuttle drivers, maintenance guy. Very helpful with any questions I had. Which were many as I have not been to this city before. Thank you. I just got ready for bed, hair wrapped in towel wet, pj's on. Bed time after a very long day of traveling. Tried to use the TV. Didn't turn on, got out of bed. It wasn't plugged in. Still didn't work. Called front desk twice. Their recommendation didn't work. Finally a maintenance guy came up twice. Finally he figured out the problem. Anyways the reason it didn't work doesn't matter. Having to go through this at the end of a very long traveling day, was the pits. Also, nothing can be done about this but, the morning traffic noise is loud, especially for lower floors. Future guests my suggestion is request a higher, parking lot view room.

Your front desk staff was great. Your shuttle driver was great. I have nothing to add to this question.

I was later informed by a local in the area that this is not a great area and to make sure you lock your vehicle doors at all times.

The staff was amazing and so sweet. Approachable and always had a smile and willing to help. Will stay here again.

The front desk staff very welcoming. The rooms were clean and everything felt safe.

View from restaurant and access to breakfast. Proximity to downtown. The floor in the room is just too old and not soft. The balcony has debris from roof cracking.

The bed was super comfy. The ice machine was broken on our floor, 12th floor but overall great experience!

That the balcony did not open

Sand in the tub, water in the shower didn’t drain very well. The hotel needs an update . Dirty gloves in the elevator. Paper on the floor when we check in. Hair and toothpaste in the sink. Female server wasn’t friendly. Buffet was dry not fresh. The happy hour was only a couple of drinks . Very limited variety.

We stairs the week at another hotel in the area that was newer but poorly constructed. For the weekend we decided to stay here. It was much more affordable and for the price the views and the service were excellent. Well the hotel was a bit dated. The place was very clean. The only reason why we gave four stars on cleanliness is because some of the floors and carpets are a bit older and appear faded and are holding some dirt. In general the bathroom and room were very clean. We definitely stay here again.

Our room had a beautiful view back toward MUSC and the city. The desk agents were friendly and helpful. While the rooms have been updated there needs to be better maintenance given the older nature of the property. I would stay at this property again but I hope they’ll invest in maintenance a bit more.

Rooms were nice though a little aged with rust spots showing through the painted bottom of the tub. Pool looked great, the food was excellent and the panoramic view from the top floor restaurant was amazing.
