    The toilet is too low for older folks and people with bad knees, etc. We were told it was $11 to park when we got to the hotel (which I did not see when I booked the room), but was not told it was per night. That is extremely disappointing. Especially since there were not many parking spaces close to the entrance. I found out when I checked my bank account. That amount was not put on my receipt. I will look elsewhere to stay on a return trip.

    I used to take my son to MUSC and always stayed here so when I was visiting Charleston, I naturally thought this would be a good place again. I was so wrong! From the time we entered at the registration desk, it was a bad experience. The person at the desk stayed on her phone through the entire check in. The floors throughout the facility looked like they had not been vacuumed in weeks. Pieces of trash littered the floor. Our room was musty smelling. I question if the linens had been changed because they smelled like dirty socks. The refrigerator froze all our food ruining it. Breakfast consisted of powdered eggs, greasy sausage, and bread. There was a charge for parking, which was not mentioned on the website. The pool was so overcrowded there was literally no room for us. Needly to say, it was a very bad experience.

    The hotel charge 11 dollars for parking in a regular parking lot. You also have to park your own car. My bathroom was not clean and smell like urine. The bathtub was dirty and the stopper was broken. The carpet smell awful and trash was behind the bed head board. I reserved a room with a balcony but instead they provided me an inside room.

    Checking in, the front desk guy was nice enough, but he charged me for parking without even asking if I had a car. I didn’t. I saw in reviews this had been an issue, so when he told me he’d take it off my bill, I requested he do it on the spot do ensure it got done. Going to my room, I noticed the carpets had not been cleaned or vacuumed in some time and there was a smell. Walls and doors were also dirty. 10 minutes into my stay, a cockroach strolled across the chest of drawers. I killed it and took it to the front desk to see if they had a cleaner room (I called other hotels in the area and they were sold out for the weekend :(). I was moved to the first floor. The room was slightly cleaner, and there was no carpet, but still pretty dusty, with stained doors and walls. I did not unpack and kept my suitcase zipped. Hopefully I brought nothing home with me. This place is pretty gross and I would not recommend it. I am pretty disappointed that La Quinta allows their name to be on this hotel. Call in the task force, take the property back, or make them take your name off the building.

    Be aware you cannot easily walk downtown. However uber prices are reasonable. We checked in a little early and had to pay 50 dollars which was disappointing. Rooms were nice and breakfast was good.

    A nice, clean, comfortable room with a mini-fridge and a microwave. The location was great also. Complementary breakfast was simple but nice. Cereals, fresh fruit, toast, eggs, sausage, waffles and yogurt. Had to go to lobby for ice-other ice machines were broken.

    The location was close to the California Dreams. One of the rooms was not ready on time and the beds were not comfortable at all as for the breakfast there was not much to choose from.

    The room lacked a smoke/CM detector. Bathroom door was not seated properly so had to force it closed or push it to the right to get it to close.

    Bathroom was spacious Had a mix up with my room but it was corrected. Hallway floors was dirty and needed to be vacuum. Need different variety of breakfast
