Red Roof Inn Plus Columbus Downtown-Convention Center

Drapes were too small for the window, allowing a lot of light around all edges from streetlights directly outside. Our toilet did not flush well unless the handle was held down. Only one small wastebasket was provided and was pushed so far under the sink that we really had to search for it! The lobby and our room each had a strong smell like air freshener partially concealing another smell, possibly stale smoke or mildew. The advertised free coffee was available only some of the time, with no clear schedule. These were all minor issues in an overall okay experience. We would stay here again if it was the best value in the area at the time of our convention.

We were not informed when checking In that housekeeping only cleans if you request it. We finally requested it for the next morning but was surprised on our return at the end of the day that our room had not been cleaned at all.

Our room was large enough for 2 kings but they are double beds (smaller than a queen). The rooms were not clean. Lots of hair on the floors. The beds were very uncomfortable and the mattresses felt old and broken down. It was nice to be within walking distance of the conference and the area felt safe, but I wouldn't stay here unless it was the only option.

Had a corner room that was warmer than the rest of the hotel. Overall a decent stay

It was okay for one night stay. No parking lot next to hotel. Parking cost $15.00 across the street and the walkability to the lot was awful. Hotel staff was great. Room service was overpriced, food was not great and it was left in the lobby.

There was no breakfast at this hotel as advertised. I would definitely suggest checking the actual hotel website for up to date information. Also no gym on site. You had to walk to get there. We were in town for a volleyball tournament at the convention center and the location was worth the trouble of staying at a not so nice place.

Lack of staff, dirty rooms, do not recommend this place at all unsafe

We checked in and our room wasn’t ready and we had to stay in a dirty room and I want full refund for my four day stay here.

Location Less than stellar staff and very uncomfortable beds.

The location was great. The staff seemed nice just overwhelmed. Run down facilities, very basic amenities (there wasn’t even an extra roll of toilet paper in our room and when I went to get towels they didn’t have a full set, ice machine not working, etc.), bed comfort just ok, you have to request service a day ahead and they don’t service every floor every day, short staffed and very long wait to get helped, key lock malfunctioned.

Poor staff service. The property was relatively clean but could be better maintained and could do with some much needed upgrades.

The front desk staff never answered the phone in three days. The television went out every day and we were not able to watch tv. They never fixed it. The shower pressure only allowed the water to come out in a weak stream and several things were broken in the room. I wouldn’t stay here again. The price is not worth it.
