Holiday Inn Dubuque/Galena by IHG

We had a great experience!

The Kitchen and Bar on site was clean and laid back. The room was clean for the most part. The shower didn’t appear to have been thoroughly cleaned like you would expect. There were marks on the wall and hair on the floor. Additionally there was a baseball tournament going on in the area so there were times of extreme noise and while the hotel tried to manage the noise near the lobby, there didn’t seem to be concern on the guest floors, sort of an out of sight out of mind feel.

Shower didnt work. Room didnt have TV remote. It was halfway clean.

Small pool was completely overrun with young boys (little league?) -- unsafe jumping and running around. My boys were nearly jumped on 2x and were hit on the head with a ball. Supervising adults were visibly intoxicated and actively drinking at pool. Was going to complain to manager but when he came out of the darkened restaurant to the desk, he himself was disoriented and apathetic to situation. Was given 2 towels for 4 ppl staying in room. Buffet breakfast cost $50 for what other hotels would offer as a free continental. Microwave not powerful enough to cook popcorn.

We called front desk asking when breakfast was. We were told it was until 10:30am So when we went down for breakfast at 10:00 am and itt had closed 2 minutes earlier was upsetting after having an unedible dinner to say the least Tried to talk with front desk and she seemed bothered that we even spoke to her inthe first place. Then she said "yep,you were told wrong. Not even a sorry.The night before we went the restaurant in hotel it was expensive for the food we ordered. It was not good . Had only one waitress. We did alot of our waitress duties since she was alone doing bar and restaurant. I tipped well because it was NOT her fault for the food being gross or that they were not enough staff. I will never stay here again. Which is a shame since our daughter will be attending Loras . My parent, siblings and my husband and I will be visiting the area alot

The sidewalk to the north was a large crack where my donor fell and sprained her ankle and passed out. It needs to be fixed! Also, there was not a very wide variety of equipment in the fitness room compared to other similar hotels.

Great location but the rooms were getting a little tired. The heat would turn on the fan but would not throw heat; so as a consequence, the room was cool the entire time. Would never heat up the room and the thermostat stayed at the same temp even though we increased the temp. In all fairness, we never told the front desk as they may have moved us to another room.

Great location, easy to get around, It was quiet. the air conditioner was really load. no breakfast included (it was $15)

Cleanliness and how close it was to everything we were doing. Not enough hand towels and washcloths

Even before closing, the bar food order was good and the beer cold. There is a song in there somewhere

Emerald was a beauty of an employer and deserves a raise. Friendly and charismatic and made us feel totally informed and welcomed. Genuinely a 10/10 human from the 2 minutes we experienced with her.
