Comfort Inn & Suites Golden – Denver West

It was simple and clean. A sign to "check in" would be helpful (the staff said one is coming) because we didnt realize that check in is in a separate building then the rooms. But really easy check in and out. Easy location. To get on and off 70

The internet on the tv didn’t work and we had to call staff who was prompt

There was a myriad of issues with our room. There was an odor as you first walked in. The bathroom fan did not work. The tub in the bathroom was gross, they have a plastic liner in the bathtub that was stained. The Air Conditioner did not work, our room did not stay cool, and it sounded like there was a racoon stuck in there trying to scratch to get out. The pool was not functioning, and neither was the sauna.

Staff was excellent. breakfast was great. The only reason I didn't book a cheaper room was because we wanted to swim and the pool was closed. That was a bummer. Very convenient to everything we was doing. Bed was very comfortable.

Would not recommend. Room smelled like smoke. Bottom sheet inside out in bed. Toilet roll holder falling off wall, hole in wall. TV didn’t work. Phone did not work to call for service. Staff did come to room to correct TV issues. Pool and spa closed but was not informed and no signage. No clear towel policy. Had to ask to exchange towels. Ice machines disconnected and missing - no signage as to where to get ice.

The room had a decent look to it and I enjoyed the Colorado-themed decor. The location was convenient to the interstate. Staff were reasonably friendly. There was a decent gym. There were stains on our pillow cases and blanket that looked like blood. There was hair in the bath tub. The room had a musty smell that came from the a/c. The breakfast was out of almost everything when we went in about a half hour before it closed. Breakfast was very disappointing. The pool was dirty and only half full of water and the hottub was empty.

Both the outdoor pool and hot tub were not working. We specifically chose this hotel for the outdoor pool. They didn't even have lounge chairs outside to sit on. Rooms are only cleaned every 3 days which is fine but they only give you towels for 1 day. We needed to go to the front desk every day for towels which is ridiculous. Lighting in the room was terrible.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was sufficient and dining area was excellent! Disappointed pool wasnt open!! Beds & pillows were comfortable.

The guy and gal who work the front desk are great and do their best.... The hotel is lacking in many areas...my wifi was "iffy" at best. There were no ice machines in the two places where it said "Ice". There were no luggage carts to hold all the luggage at the entrance nor any of the other entrances of the hotel. It was frustrating. My mattress was sloped down, so I had to lay in the bed at an angle so I wouldn't roll off the bed. The tv did not play at all. It seemed there were maybe only 6 or so channels but I couldn't even get the tv to play any of the channels. Sometimes you take so many things for granted when staying at a hotel...but here, between tv not working, no ice, no luggage cart, slopy bed, crappy wifi---it was not the best experience. The location is close to main roads and restaurants but this place has seen better times. I know the staff is doing their best with what they are dealing with--they were pleasant and helpful always...this goes for last year too!

Easy to get to off the 70 clean room and bed was ok

This was a terrible hotel and doesn’t deserve one star. The room was awful. The stink was so awful and was filthy, the pool was dirty and unusable, hot tub absolutely unusable. I cannot tell you how awful the stench was in our room. The worst hotel I think I’ve ever stayed. If there were ANY rooms available nearby I would have left. My clothes and everything stunk that smell the next day. The ice machine didn’t work, the breakfast was gone at 7:45 am except the cold cereal, warm milk, and old bread for toast. Even pancake batter machine was empty. There was an orange that was set out that was so rotten, the sides were caved in. Ugh. Find a better option!

The pictures online showed a property in much better condition than it actually was. We were told afterwards that the property was “actively working thru a process of upgrades and improvements”. Disgusting hallway carpeting, cheap furniture and a pool that has been closed for more than just our 3 day stay is just a start. Not at all what we expected from this hotel chain. Steer Clear of this one.

Love staying at this hotel when driving cross country. Easy to get to, lots of food and shopping nearby and the breakfast is always good.

Very good

Location isn’t really in Golden as I thought it was but it was pretty convenient to drive to where we wanted to go. The hotel is showing signs of age but was pretty clean. Housekeeping didn’t visit our room at all during our stay. We had to go ask for towels. Otherwise, our stay was good.

Great location for attending Red Rocks concerts. Lots of restaurants nearby. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed and clean room. Only disappointment was the out of service hot tub. Would definitely stay again.

Upon arrival they tried to charge me an extra $118 over the price I booked at and there was no manager on the premises to address the issue. Same the following morning. Finally someone with authority showed up and agreed to honor their original rate. Everything looked recently painted and fresh, however there was gum stuck on my carpet. The carpet in my room needed vacuuming, but it was not terrible. Nothing in their website mentioned that they do not offer housekeeping. In three nights no one changed my sheets or offered clean towels. Breakfast supplies were not replenished. People coming in late were out of luck on some items. The location was convenient and the room served its purpose, but the rate issue and lack of management on the premises was concerning. I informed Expedia, who I booked through, about their lack of housekeeping so hopefully they will add it to their information. It could be a deciding factor in choosing a place to stay.

They are clearly under construction to improve the hotel… but our room had wax on the floor, old used tea bags in the keurig, the bathroom light/fan had very loud noise, and the AC also had a terrible noise all night that kept us up. Additionally - out of control of the hotel - but someone was smoking weed and the smell was drifting into our room through vents. The bed was clean and very comfortable and the soap/shampoo/conditioner was nice but overall cleanliness was sub par.

Overall it was ok, however the property had a dated environment.

Great place to stay, staff was helpful and easy to work with.
