The Hollywood Franklin Hotel near Universal Studios

The elevator was slow and smelled like burning wires. The bed was the most uncomfortable thing ever. The carpet, banquette and bench were stained and my first shower was cold. I found out after speaking to maintenance that the hot was cold and the cold was hot.

Easy walk to Hollywood blvd. Valet only but unlimited in and out with the parking.

Great place to see a show at the UCB and then head to the sunset strip after! 5 min from Griffith, universal and many other places.

Very large clean rooms and restrooms. Safe area and very friendly staff.

Also Clark’s Diner is amazing

Overall for the price it was ok. They will not clean your room unless you request it. The pool is very small, but adequate. The hotel has a very nice café with good food. My biggest complaint was the noise from the street, hotel, and hotel staff very early in the morning. Doors are very loud and heavy and slam. They need to fix a A/C units, one made a very Hunger Games siren noise.

I did not get the same room that I booked so that was a bit disappointing. Good location and dining options.

There was no free parking or shuttle service to the Hollywood bowl and at the end of the concert at the Hollywood bowl had trouble getting rideshare back to the hotel

The size of the rooms were much bigger than expected including the bathrooms! Very well equipped. Loved the decor, each room had a different theme. On-site diner. We arrived late in the evening and although the diner was about to close they kindly kept the kitchen open and rustled up a take-away order for us. Breakfast was great too! One road back from Hollywood Boulevard, so easy to get out and sight-see. The bar is very small, dark and very very cold because of the AC. We had requested a quiet room, however, the AC in the rooms is extremely loud and kept us awake. Couldn't have the window open as we were above the courtyard and it was very noisy all night either with staff or other guests. Not much shelving for the size of the room. Valet parking was $37 per night! No option to park your own car.

Nice spacious and updated room, Large shower, large bed, all amenities in room you need: small fridge, coffee machine, iron etc. Noisy AC unit, has to turn it off when going to sleep so it got a bit warm during the night.
