DoubleTree by Hilton New York JFK Airport

Nice hotel. Clean updated rooms. Front desk staff was not friendly. A lady who I believe to be a manager approached s we were waiting to assisted and proceeded to greet the flight crew who came in after us, by passing us to check them in and never acknowledging the line of customers waiting to check in. The lady that checked us in was more concerned with her phone than assisting us. There was one young man who was very polite and helpful when I went down later to purchase some items. in short this appears to be a flight crew preferred hotel and the staff caters to them.

Good location

The place was pretty clean but didn't have bell hop carts to assist with our luggage. I found this was absolutely a disappointment. I was also hoping they had a pool other than that staff was great.

No restaurants or fast food within walking distance. Hotel restaurant only offered a pricey, unappealing buffet. Hotel snack shop very pricey. JFK shuttle worked well.

The hotel room itself was spacious and clean. The bathroom was also spacious. The staff members were not very helpful. They were more preoccupied with having their private conversations and trying to decide whether they were going to go to Walmart together after work. There weren’t any very welcoming and didn’t really explained the amenities of the hotel. I won’t be staying here in the future.

Staff great. Got Into our room early. Good pizza recommendation. Only minor complaint was a noisy a/c unit.

The only two good things that we can talk about is the proximity to the airport, and the shuttle was free.

Great location in relation to JFK. Don't get room 305. You hear highway noise all night. When requesting a room there you should ask for a room on the opposite side of the highway. It is a great hotel at a great price, clean, good amenities, good bar, nice crowd. Again, with the caveat I mentioned above the only reason you would have a highway side room is If you find truck and car noises soothing, then it is the room for you. I found it very deceptive not to tell customers in advance. I'm sure they have a lot of complaints about the highway side rooms.
