Paper bag with breakfast was substandard. Lots of pastries.

A solid affordable hotel experience in a great location. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was very functional (especially the window AC unit and the bathroom were great). The only knock I can give is a general run down condition of some of the furniture and hardware, and slight lack of care in cleanliness if you looked hard (dust mostly). But the housekeeping was prompt and kept it clean in the key ways.

Great Location - near trains - good area near restaraunts and ammenities (mostly safe). The room was the expected size for a NYC hotel room, and the bed was comfortable, and even a hair dryer was provided. There is a "cafeteria" in the basement which has vending machines, a sink, and tables and chairs to sit down and eat your take out food. A few issues I had though were that there was no counterspace, just a small sink ledge to put stuff on. Also in this particular room I had the TV was mounted on a side wall, so not visible from the bed unless I laid sideways on an angle. Also the breakfast consists of a "grab and go" bag which is packaged pastries, fruit cup, and yogurt, most of which I could not eat because I am on a gluten free diet. There were some cosmetic inperfections including really wide unsightly grout lines and exposed circuit breaker box and wiring, but nothing that was so horrible I didn't feel like I still didn't get a good value.

The property felt unsafe and extremely run-down from the moment I arrived. The front desk was behind a glass-protected wall, which immediately made me uncomfortable. After checking in, I found there was no shampoo or conditioner provided, the hairdryer did not work, and the room felt dirty enough that I was genuinely concerned about bedbugs. Throughout the night, I could hear people screaming, yelling, and crying, which was very unsettling, especially as a solo traveller. I left very early the next morning because I no longer felt safe staying there. I only booked this hotel because it was close to the concert venue, but I strongly recommend others avoid it.

Place with dirty had gum on mirror

The room was clean. We did not stay long enough to have breakfast although it was offered. We stayed there for 1 night due to flight cancellation. The room assigned to us appears to have a fresh coat of paint (smoke and CO2 detectors still wrapped in plastic, TV still have protective plastic sheeting, and the mirror still needs to be hung). The area while not ideal, appears to be in a safe area. The neighbors are a climbing gym and a swim academy for kids. Although the glassed in enclosure for the check in desk does not instill confidence. I felt this hotel can only get better as the area definitely look clean and safe. It is a 30 minute Uber ride from LGA, not exactly close to the airport. The room is very small. A queen bed barely fit in it. Each time my husband got in bed, the creaky bed wakes me up, not a great night of sleep. The mattress is comfortable, though.

Bed was incredibly creaky and loud, entire hallway smelled like tobacco even though it's a non-smoking hotel, broken shelf under the mirror. I could also hear everything from the hallway because the door wasn't fully sealed.

Great for short notice
-
Staff was fine and was attentive to my inquiries. However, I found multiple different kinds of bugs in my bed (not bed bugs to my knowledge) but multiple different species. my toilet clogged upon arrival - from just pee (sorry for the tmi). I did not stay for more than an hour or so as I did not feel safe sleeping in the bed after finding so many bugs. I do not want to post a public review but I do want some form of refund as I had to book a different hotel for the night.

Bad experience
-
It was a bed to sleep on and a bathroom Bed filled up almost entire room, mattress was so high had to climb onto it with a bad leg, no chair, shower had damaged shelf, shampoo, conditioner, outlet in bathroom did not work so neither did the hair dryer, soap dispensers did not work or were empty, toilet paper dispenser was broken, TV channel options were weird and difficult to figure out. No local channels or usual cable news or other channels. I asked for an adjustment, and was told "will see what we can do"
