The staff was very nice and helpful and answered every question we had. The rooms are spacious and the shower is large.

Always love staying at the Smyth one of my favorites in Manhattan!!

The staff was top notch, including the Smyth Tavern and Lounge staff! We stayed during the Knicks’ Championship Parade and it was sweet how the hotel limited hotel and Tavern access to only hotel guests because there were literally thousands of fans right outside. We had a memorable stay and forward to staying here again!

The room was quite small, but the balcony was really lovely and made it feel much larger. Great outdoor space. Great view. Bed was very comfortable. Staff was super helpful and extremely friendly and took care of any needs I had. The location is great and incredibly convenient. The hotel was also very quiet. In my room you couldn't hear noise from outside / the street or from other rooms which was great. I wish there was a tea kettle in the room and a full-length mirror. Also, the landline phone did not work, so I was not able to call down for room service. Wasn't so much what I didn't like but just a few bits that would have made the stay a little better. No real complaints.

We checked in at 1am because of a late flight, with Melissa at the front desk. She was the only one who was helpful and not dismissive like the rest of the staff the next morning/day. We had to get two separate reservations, for two different rooms because rooms weren’t ready. Both rooms had little to no outlets to charge phones and the ones they did have, didn’t work so my phone was dead the next morning. Both rooms had no shower doors. Just a tiled shower with no door which left the whole bathroom floor wet. Not to mention everything in the bathroom had awful smells. In addition, they charged us all kinds of fees that were not disclosed in the beginning of check-in. What should have been a $489 room, was charged $715, plus two separate charges for almost $200. Would not recommend this hotel.

This hotel is the worst I have stayed in the 30 hotels I have stayed so far this year. It is essentially a motel quality hotel with nice , exaggerated photos on the internet. There is dirty carpet in the room and corridor. There is no water, and no coffee in the room. They also try to overcharge you when you check out. There is $45 facility fee per day with only a dingy gym. They gave me a really bad room when I check in. I tried to change to another room, and they told me it is $150 upgrade fee for 2 days. However, when I checked out, they charged me $150 PER DAY for the upgrade, which on hotels.com, the fee for the room difference is only $20 per day. There are also facility fee of $45 per day, and 2 State Tax, and 2 City Tax PER DAY on the invoice. When I confront them, they said they will refund the 1 day upgrade fee. However, when I checked my credit card bill, it was never refunded. The front desk staff on Sunday & Monday, May 24th and 25th are very rude. I don’t know how they get high ratings on the site. There is no way this is a luxury hotel. The beddings are very cheap. Furnitures are beaten up. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life, because I was misled by the photos and reviews on the site. BEWARE!

Great Staff!!!!

Very comfortable and clean rooms. Convenient location for walking or taking the subway. Great neighborhood.

The room was average notwithstanding the outside deck. There was not chair to sit in the room - two chairs on the deck os I took one in to the room. Understand the bed is low so a chair is needed. This speaks to the size of the room - needless to say TIGHT! As we know many hotels have gone to the dispenser strategy for bath products - two of the dispensers did not work! Did the staff check - probably not since they did not work until I checks out after three nights. Price to value - 3 stars out of 5
