The Evelyn Hotel

The front desk staff was kind, helpful, and attentive made this day extra special.

Bar was laid back and comfortable. A nice way to wind down the evening.

The Evelyn was a delightful surprise in a perfect location. Loved it and hope to return. I was looking for a small boutique hotel somewhere between E 25th and 28th Streets, but with easy access to the Upper West Side Broadway subway for an all day event, plus two separate graduations on Broadway and 168th Street and concluding with a graduation dinner on Broadway and 26th St. The hotel proved to be perfect plus the decor is Art Deco style. The staff, service and accomodations were excellent. My room was impeccable and had an accessible bathroom and shower. Guests can request an electric kettle or a Nepresso machine for their room on check in; a light breakfast from 7 am is included, and on Monday and Wednesday afternoons there is a wine hour in the bar lounge. The lounge is very cozy, serves bar food and there is also French restaurant (which I did not get to try). Definitely a winner in a walkable neighborhood filled with quality restaurants with indoor and outdoor seating. Only one small detail, which I expressed to the management. The lighting in the two elevators is very subdued, and control panel is not illuminated, making it difficult for any person with low vision to locate where to swipe their room key and press the button for the desired floor. It should be simple to correct this.

Location, great area and everything we needed for our stay was conformable. Clean and tidy room, rooms size are small even i had booked bigger size, but as we were out and about and coming back to sleep only it served well. It was quite lively and busy bar at the hotel. Nice NY vibe. Breakfast coffee it was worth coffee I ever had in my life. It was Breakfast on the go included, but they were running out of food and we didn’t have any Breakfast. So if you booking because to have breakfast included dont bother, in NY is better to go outside and find nice place for breakfast around. They only few minutes walk from Eataly where we going.

Very nice hotel but small rooms and baths. Elevators could use updating. Helpful staff.

Amazing staff, hotel is exactly what I wanted.. the ambiance in this boutique hotel was superb.. I will be coming back..

1. small, cramped room 2. take and go breakfast service. couldn't sit and eat there. 3. ended up having a drink at the much friendlier bar by the hotel entrance after we entered the bar further inside (which had free tables) and were told we had to first check with the staff at this bar entrance if we could sit. we were nonplussed, because those two staff saw us walking in and had not said anything.

Great location easy walk to Empire State Building. Safe area. Park just a block away, we felt very comfortable being out walking day or night.

Great location. Comfy bed. Lovely lobby area, bar and coffee shop. Elevators too slow and too small. Room in small side. Style not as crisp in the bedroom as I’m the lobby. Very limited storage space.

Lovely comfortable bed, great friendly staff and beautiful decor. Lovely big walk in shower. Great location off of 5th Avenue but away from the crowds Had to ask for a kettle in the room
