The clean rooms and professional staff were commendable. However, the parking space was limited, and the breakfast was not satisfactory.

Love the location close to Mission Bay and walkable. Staff was warm and welcoming and friendly and assisted me in getting a nice quiet room which I enjoyed Parking was a bit difficult due to a large number of work vehicles that occupied a lot of space but manageable. The only reason for four stars is because when I booked the hotels website talks about hot items at breakfast which I assumed would be like all the other best westerns where I had previously stayed with usually some version of eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes, waffles, pancakes, etc. reviews on Expedia also said breakfast is excellent. My experience was different. The coffee was very diluted. The only eggs were a bowl of hard boiled eggs. There were a couple options for toast. there was some yogurt with some toppings and then there were prepackaged sweet rolls. There was some fresh fruit. Extremely disappointing for Best Western and what I’ve come to expect from them in their breakfast area. I would stay there again due to the staff and the location.

Perfect place to stay in Bay Park

Spent 4 wonderful nights here first week of June. Nice warm pool & toasty jacuzzi. Had both all to myself every night. Big Comfy King room with great bed, nice couch, waist high fridge, microwave, coffee pot, etc. I was solo, so safety is paramount. Location was super quiet, even though it’s just one block off the 5 freeway. Felt very safe. Actually went to the 7-Eleven and the gas station both at night & wasn’t the slightest bit uncomfortable. Building was built in the 70’s (probably why it’s so quiet), but has been redone. Still has California Spanish architecture, which is very pretty. Rooms are modern and up-to-date. Front desk & housekeeping staff was incredibly nice, making sure I had everything I needed. Breakfast was pretty typical: cereal, some fruit, muffins, eggs. No meat. Nothing fancy, but will get you to lunch. Location is FANTASTIC! 2 minutes to Mission Bay and maybe 5 to Seaworld & Old Town and 10 min to downtown. It’s the only hotel off the Claremont exit, and by a small, old church, so made for a chill vibe. At $100/night, you absolutely can’t beat it! Really liked not being in the hustle and bustle area of hotel circle with the massive traffic on the 8 and business of Mission/Fashion Valley. Will absolutely stay here again next time I’m in San Diego. Currently looking for any excuse to come back to my old hometown & stay at this great property.

The outside was more beat up than I expected. The inside was nice except the floor was filthy (dirty feet). The pool and hot tub were okay but not great. The whole hotel definitely looked nicer in the pictures than it was.

Staff needs to inform guests about the breakfast had to ask. Also, the pillows were a little flat. other than these things everything else was good. Good price and location

Avoid this property. I booked this property based on the reviews I had read on Expedia. We'll those positive reviews are misleading. This property is awful. 1st off the staff is unresponsive and needs to be retrained in customer service. Our hair dryer didn't work. When my wife went to ask for a new one she was told no. Another person staying in another room gave us theirs. Secondly, the room smelled like cigarette smoke. For a non-smoking room it smelled like someone regularly smokes in there. Third there were ants in the sink and on the counter. And 4th and most disgusting on our last morning a roach the size of a silver dollar was in our bathroom. The breakfast that they advertise as having waffles and eggs didn't. Just hard boiled eggs in a plastic container already peeled collecting germs. All in all a horrible experience. We will never frequent tjis location again. And I encourage Expedia to remove this location from there offerings.

Our room was right in front of the stairs. We got all the traffic from people going up and down the stairs being loud and obnoxious throughout the entire night. I would never stay there again.

Good location very clean and nice breakfast. My only problem was I could hear the next door rooms doors close and hear people above me and to the adjoining rooms walking around until almost 2 am. If you are a light sleeper this might not be the place. But otherwise 5 stars

The breakfast was sub par... only continental and usually we have full breakfasts at Best Westerns in the past. Although I understood the "graduation" reason (since that is why we were staying there!) I felt that regardless, room cleaning etc. should have been performed. My biggest issue is that the hotels now charge extra for "possible damages" and then say it could take 7 to 10 days to get that $100 back on our card. Ridiculous!!! (but ours was already not taken out when the charge went through).
