Sandcastle Resort On The Beach

Loved the hotel. But only one elevator was a bummer. Very long waits 😓

Short stay but was a great overall experience. The only downside or gripe was uncontrollable by staff. One of the elevators was down that resulted in long waits to get up to the room if you needed to use it, fortunately we had no issues taking stairs and viewed the 9 flights as our gym work out.

The pool area is terrible, with bad-colored water. The breakfast is not well-served and not healthy. Their gloves touch everywhere on the door handles and elevator control buttons while performing their duties. They brought a crib for my baby in poor condition and without a mattress after I paid a little extra. It is my honest assessment.

Everything was great. I will definitely be back.

Location Only 1 elevator was working and it was very slow getting to each floor. No hair dryer in the room.

i LOVED our room it was beautiful and the perfect price. there was a shop for the little things we forgot to pack , and two restaurants attached to property. the elevator was finicky

The location was great with beautiful views. The breakfast bar was also a great convenience. One of the elevators was broken and that caused long wait times to move between floors. It was also very hot in the hallway as we tried to get on the elevator. The cut off time for breakfast was at 10:00 which seems too early. It should be at least 11:00. Why rush customer's when they are on vacation. My bathroom door was really hard to pull shut and lock when in use.

The facility was very nice. I would definitely stay there again.

Disappointing Stay Despite Friendly Staff Our stay at Sandcastle was just okay. The staff was friendly, and we were able to check in early, which was appreciated. Unfortunately, the hotel itself needs quite a bit of upkeep. There was only one working elevator during our stay, resulting in long wait times to get to and from our floor. While the room was acceptable, it was not as clean as I expected. The towels had a mildew smell, the bathroom smelled like a public restroom, and the bed sheets did not appear to be as clean as they should have been. Based on the positive reviews I had read before booking, I was disappointed with the overall condition of the property. For the price I paid, I expected a cleaner room, fully functioning elevators, and better breakfast options. Overall, I don’t think I would choose to stay here again.

This is a great hotel for a budget friendly week at the beach with family and kids. The rooms were clean, the staff made up the room each day. The continental breakfast was decent. You’re a very short walk to the beach. Our 2 year old loved the kiddie pool. It helped with kind of teaching her to swim. My only complaint this stay was one of the elevators were down so waiting on elevators was a bit of a hassle. But taking the stairs helped walk off some of the amazing food we had while in Virginia Beach. And you’re right next to the fishing pier, Ocean Eddies, and The Fun Park. Great location for families.

Location was exceptional & view of ocean/beach was fantastic There were 3 elevators, 1 was broken. The other 2 took forever to work. Room was very small/tight. Beds super uncomfortable.

I really like the View Hotel. This was my second time there. The first time I criticized the breakfast so that they could improve its quality a little, but this time it was even worse than the last time. The place for breakfast was small and it was not clean at all. The machines for toast and pancakes were not good at all and you had to wait a long time to get a pancake or a toast. For the kids, there was only milk and TV series. The breakfast was not good at all. Another thing is that all hotels have hair dryers, and considering that, I didn't bring one with me, and then I realized that there was no hair dryer, and it was very problematic for me and the kids. Another thing was that one of the elevators was broken. That one was so slow that you had to wait a long time to get up. Breakfast and place spending breakfast were so bad. The lack of hair dryer in the room and a broken elevator and other lift work very slowly

Ocean view was good. Coffee was good. Pancake machine was cool. The elevator was broken and slow.

It was a pretty run-down hotel & was dingey. For what I paid, I thought it would be nicer

A few things to mention: one of the elevators wasn’t working (not sure why), so the wait times were long. There also weren’t many breakfast options. But overall, it was a nice stay — great location and beautiful views. We really enjoyed our stay!
