American Inn Cedar Rapids South

Was told that there were no more rooms available online for the following week but I could book through the motel for long term for $10 extra a night over what Expedia quoted

Property was less than clean. Overflowing trash, the worse though after being happy for a comfortable bed and sleeping all night was finding a used bandaid in our bed that was not ours.

Staff

We were able to check in early, which was nice. TV and bathroom were outdated. There were two of us. I had to ask for a second room key and there were exactly two of each towel. Seemed a little stingy—a bit inconvenient if you want to take more than one shower. But it was fine for one night.

I just happened into this place, but it was one of the best places I've stayed. Room was spacious and staff was welcoming.

I went to check the room after checking in, there was hair on the blanket, pillow cases and sheets. There was something hard and crusty on the blanket, sticky stuff on the endtables and a couple of stains on the sheet. I went up to the front desk to ask for a clean room and he asked me to show him the dirty one, I took him to the room and I'm pointing everything out, I point out the crusty stuff on the blanket and he took his nail and started scratching it off as if that would magically make it clean. He then wanted to argue saying he changed the bedding himself and he knows its clean, he got defensive and an attitude so I chose to not stay there at all.

The hotel room was clean and newly remodeled.
